Danish Rolling blocks
« on: June 01, 2016, 07:11:52 PM »
I was in the Hazelwood (St Louis) Cabelas today.  On the racks were 2 beautiful Danish Rolling blocks, both tagged at $700.  I don't know what a good price is for these, but I do know at this store they discount 10% of the tag price as soon as you set down. And then you negotiate.  These also both have PRISTINE bores, and will work with slightly shortened, neck sized 45-70 brass (51mm).

They were also tagged as maker and caliber unknown, but I knew!

They do not appear on the website.
Civilize them with a Krag . . .

My LGS had an absolutely gorgeous Danish Rolling Block for $600. It sat in the store for over a year an I wanted that rifle so badly, but always figured my reloading skill just wasn't developed enough for what I wanted, an antique shooter. Just when I got a job where I could afford to buy it, it vanished, never figured out who got it. Oh well. Got my Trapdoor which I love dearly, just need to get the stock fixed.
