Tired of singin' Kumbuya Part Deux
« on: November 28, 2004, 05:56:13 PM »
Well, can't get my music fix on TFS, so thought would try over here, Are ya out there AnnieLee?
and in yer honor:
You fill up my senses like a night in a forest
Like the mountains in springtime,
like a walk in the rain
like a storm in the desert
like a sleepy blue ocean,
you fill up my senses, come fill me again......

My computer is about to be disassembled, so I can put together a little better one, anyway hope ya had a good "turkeyday".night

A pleasure to see you here, Curley!

The weekend went good, but didn't get as much done as I wanted. Still have all my jam and jelly to make. The match today was my first try at writing stages and I think it went really well. At least no one kicked me in the rear or gave me noogies of spite for them. :D

You are my sunshine, my only sunshine....

I hope the work on the computer goes well and you and yours had a lovely holiday,

"Ain't no sunshine when she's gone
It's not warm when she's away
Ain't no sunshine when she's gone
She's gone much too long
Any time she goes away
Ain't no sunshine when she's gone
Wonder if she's gone to stay
Ain't no sunshine when she's gone
And this house just ain't no home
Anytime she goes away
I know
She's gone to stay
It's breakin' me up
Anytime she goes away
Gotta leave the young thing alone
There ain't no sunshine when she's gone
Ain't no sunshine when she's gone
It's not warm when she's away
Ain't no sunshine when she's gone
And she's gone much too long
Any time she goes away
Ain't no sunshine when she's gone
I wonder if she's gone to stay
There ain't no sunshine when she's gone
And this house just ain't a home
Any time she goes away
I know
She's gone to stay
It's breaking me up
Any time she goes away
Gotta leave the young thing alone
There ain't no sunshine when she's gone
Ain't no sunshine when she's gone

Miss Peggy (my better half) just replaced her old white-box system with a new HP. She wants to take the old 'puter up to the range and put a few rounds through the motherboard.

I say, anything that gets Miss Peggy out shooting some more is a Good Thing.

We skipped the light fandango
And turned cartwheels across the floor
I was feeling kind of seasick
The crowd called out for more
The room was humming harder
As the ceiling flew away
Whe we called out for another drink
The waiter brought a tray

And so it was that later
As the miller told his tale
That her face at first just ghostly
Turned a whiter shade of pale

She said there is no reason
And the truth is plain to see
But I wandered through my playing cards
Would not let her be
One of sixteen vestal virgins
Who were leaving for the coast
At the moment my eyes were open
They might just as well have been closed

And so it was that later
As the miller told his tale
That her face at first just ghostly
Turned a whiter shade of pale

You asked.....

Say what you will but Karen had a great voice and I liked them......

"Talking to myself and feeling old
Sometimes I’d like to quit
Nothing ever seems to fit
Hangin’ around, nothing to do but frown
Rainy days and mondays always get me down
What I’ve got they used to call the blues
Nothing is really wrong
Feeling like I don’t belong
Walking around some kind of lonely clown
Rainy days and mondays always get me down
Funny but it seems I always wind up here with you
It’s nice to know somebody loves me
Funny but it seems that it’s the only thing to do
To run and find the one who loves me
what I feel is come and gone before
No need to talk it out
We know what it’s all about
Hanging around, nothing to do but frown
Rainy days and mondays always get me down
Funny but it seems that it’s the only thing to do
Run and find the one who loves me
Hangin around, nothing do to but frown
Rainy days and mondays always get me down"

"Mr. Lunt: Baby I know your eyes see right through my disguise
Boyz: (Larry, Jimmy, Junior): And no one can deny
Mr. Lunt: Baby that I’m the one whose love is no surprise
Boyz: And he can’t tell you no lie
Mr. Lunt: But there’s a secret I’ve been hidin’ I can’t keep it no more
Boyz: There’s this thing about himself he’s never told you before
Lunt: Baby!

Chorus:
Boyz: He needs to tell you something
Mr. Lunt: I don’t got a bellybutton
Oh I need to tell you something
Boyz: Have you figure it out
He don’t got a bellybutton
Boyz: Bellybutton no, oh no no

Mr. Lunt: Baby please don’t squeal, just tell me how you feel
Boyz: ‘Cause his love is for real
Mr. Lunt: And if you went away, my heart would never heal
Boyz: So to you he appeals
Mr. Lunt: There’s something missing in my middle and it’s hard to ignore
Boyz: There’s this thing about himself he’s never told you before
Lunt: Baby!

Chorus

Khalil: Bellybutton!
Boyz: Uh, uh
Khalil: Bellybutton!
Boyz: Uh, uh
Khalil: You say your bellybutton’s missing, there’s no reason for alarm
It’s a common thing for gourds, it won’t do you any harm
You’re technically a fruit and with that much being said;
Your umbilical equivocal is up there on your head!
You could opt for a prosthetic but of course you’d have to know
It’d be covered by your shirt, but not your HMO
Boyz: Bellybutton!
Khalil: Uh, uh
Boyz: Bellybutton
Khalil: Uh, uh

Mr. Lunt: a stylish something absent from my midriff’s décor
Boyz: There’s this thing about himself he’s never told you before
Lunt: Baby!

Boyz: He need to tell you something
Mr. Lunt: I don’t got a belly button
Oh I need to tell you something
Boyz: Have you figure it out
He don’t got a belly button
Boyz: Belly button no, oh no no
Lunt and Boyz: No belly button!"

Your better half already had a lot going for her because she is married to you, and now she's earned extra bonus points for singing that song! YAY her!!

Thanks, AnnieLee. In my formerly altered state of consciousness, I could never quite get all those Procol Harum words.

Somewhere around here, I have transcribed "The Wind Cries Mary," which has always made me sad.
