So hard not to get in trouble, sometimes I want to tell some of these Millinial guys to speak like a !an or I'll cut your nuts off. Perhaps that is the problem, somebody has already. ;)
Was trying not to die laughing the other night, regular customer, big forlift mechanic told a kid his pants were falling down, kid looked ready to cry.

Morning all.
40 and overcast today, wind chill to 33. Should be a decent day to fly, though.
Today's itinerary includes working on a research paper about the DHS, working with my E6B flight computer for ground school, and then flying later on.
Congrats Major E.
Del, do you mean to tell me that you aren't disavowing your toxic masculinity in the interest of protecting the feelings of the timid? Say it isn't so!

The late Boston John formed a group called POOP, People Offended by Offended People, based on the fact easily offended people are some of the most offensive people you have ever met. So if they don't care about your feelings, you don't have to worry about theirs.
40 Rod and I keep it going.

45 and rain here today. May end up being white stuff in the morning.
Had a test in ground school today. I don't think I failed, but I don't think it's my best score in the course.
I'm about to head over and watch I Walk the Line with a friend, and do a little homework.

rained a lick yesterday, looks to be more coming today ...
the offen Saturday FFL & lunch with my shooing pard was a day early this week... I was on PTO and he has a daughters B'day party to attend today.
John picked up a Marlin 1894 pre-safety in 44 special, gun looked like new but was 70's era.
I had seen it first, but was between sock drawer flush and that empty space :(. had I had the clams it'd be in my safe :-\
Lunch was a new joint just opened "Hawaii Grill & Sushi' , I got a thing call the Volcano something or other....
Califorina Rolls fried and arranged in crater like pattern, then the crater filled with shrimp, sea scallops , and crab meat with eel sauce .... sounds like BAIT but it was SUPER good !
"SHE" that will be obeyed , is off to Melbourne , her Sister's & niece's double B'day , my attendance not required ... GOODIE !
not sure what mischief I'll find for myself .... :-\
-
With sock drawer on low, not much mischef will be found...
Coffee is hot.... no really hot - overfilled cup and splashed some on bare foot. Before i could read warning on my favorite cup.
Presently 38 and clear

Morning y'all.
Thanks fer the coffee.
I didn't know fish guns came in .44 Special. I have a safety in .44 Mag and a pre-safety that was converted to .45 Colt.
I'm gonna try my hand at powder-coating bullets. I picked up powder at Harbor Freight and a toaster-oven at Salvation Army store.
'Tis 42 and mostly sunny. High of 46.

A friend of mine powder coats the cast bullets that he shoots through his autoloaders (45acp, 40S&W, 38Super, 380acp). He swears by it. I don't know what he uses, just that he always shows up to the range with blue bullets.
35 degrees and overcast at 9500ft. I hope to fly today, but that will depend on aircraft availability.

Any of you have knowledge of value on .357 Fishgun pre safety? Good but not new condition
-
I blame brain fade ::)... Yes Slim 44 Mag. , he'll shoot 44 Spc'l I 'spect
hard to say Roo.... JM Marlin's are getting more costly...a pre-safety in .357 is a desirable caliber for CAS.
without seeing it , but in good working cond. with cosmetic issues ... $500
Poor condition , parts gun ? :-\
The one my friend just got , was in like new circa 1977 or so ....$800.... that is about what they are on GB $795 - $900

I used it CAS. and have hunted deer with it.

Clocks changed here. Since "Daylight savings time" is over, I guess we're now in "Daylight Wasting Time".
Finally took out the A/C units and stored them, haven't used in a month. Back now bothering me, guess I need to find a different place to store them, where I don't have to maneuver into the back door of a 1960's mobile home, immediately turn right down a narrow hallway.

Went to Scheels for the first time today. I can't go back to that place ever again- I don't have that sort of spare cash. :o. There's a de Havilland Otter hanging from the ceiling. Those cost more than my entire college education will.
This time change business is getting old. Now I have to change my Zulu conversion again.

BRW Major 2 i like the spoon and fork target ideals
-
I discovered the tops & bottoms of soup cans, bake bean cans, dog food etc.
The cards were my first aha ! :) but used cans lids are free.
Corrugated cardboard box cut size works real well on the fork tines ( some quick spray paint make it a bright target )
I blasted away 300 rounds of shorts yesterday :D Have to hit Academy Sports for more CCI shortys

Homespun shooting galleries are a ton of fun. Have you tried glue stick bullets? - over .45 casing no powder just primer. Shoot in garage or basement. You can pucnh thru paper targets with ease. Winter coming on you might need some trigger time.
-
no never tried Glue sticks, read about it though....
Gallery's were a great passtime when I was young.... I even wrote an article for NCOWS Shootist about gallerys.
Disney World had 2 lead slinging gallery's up until 1984 .... now history
I get no warm fizzy from the electronic or lazer hit versions in todays political correct snowflake world.
My guess is "if" gallery stages were a part of the NCOWs picture , I think we'd see a resergence in younger shooters.
They (gallery's) existed in the ERA.... even Winchester's 73 was chambered in 22
The US Army ordered 800... 22 chambered Krag's for training

Interesting article you have penned. When i was pre-high school, note: and the oldest child, my father bought a well worn out single shot 12 gauge for me to hunt with him. At the same point of purchase, he bought a 1890 take down model. We believed dated around 1910. We used it for ever. He eventual gave it to my nephew. My sister may had got rid of it. I don’t know. I remember shooting what ever was available with it. I was also a sucker for the shooting gallerys.

I have an 1890 TD that has been in the family since some time in the 1930's at least. My Dad and his brothers all hunted with it, including "hunting" fish in the creek,(I'm sure the statute of limitations has run out on that) and I learned how to shoot with it, too. (No, I never put the muzzle in the water, myself...) It was originally a .22 long, converted to LR, but he showed me how to whittle a piece of stick to put in the lifter, so it would feed shorts.
-
1890's will bring serious money in fine cond. most Gallery guns are worn and even TD's and private purchases gun have seem a lot of use but still cost a good $$$.
There is cabin contengent of collectors for the old single cast iron targets and "if" one might find an old Mangels Co. arcade setup, figure $50,000 .

Guess that's why I have always been an I, people expect me to think on my own.

Afternoon all.
No flying today. Weather isn't cooperating. Something about clouds being too low, and possible ice forming on the wings (which in a nutshell means you fall out of the sky). That 2 inches of cold white stuff on the ground might be playing a role in this too. Hopefully fly tomorrow morning, if weather cooperates.
Today I have laundry and a paper to do. Yay.

20 degrees, with wind chill dropping us into rubble digits. Ice all over, naturally. Made the drive to the airport fun with all the Prius-driving out of towners. I made it in one piece, and without extra dents, so I'll call that a win.
Didn't get to fly because of weather. Needed 5000 foot ceiling, but it was sitting pretty at 3300. So, I'll just read ahead in history class, instead.

Latest piece to be used for edumacation reasons. Psted pictures of last week's sinner-mon rolls and of course someone wants a recipe.
Well often a recipe is not enough. Then first I have to write a recipe because I never us one or measuring devices.

Set this up a little over a year ago. A free forum board, use it as a public access, linkable cloud, it works well and is easier that writing, copying or what ever when someone needs info.

I'll poke that fire back into life for the late crew.
Had a good weekend. Just got back into Billings at 01:15. The four hour drive got turned into a 6.5 hour drive by that white, fluffy ice stuff. Couple of times between Butte and Bozeman where 35mph was as fast as I could go and still see through the sn*w. The speed limit through Bozeman is typically 65, but we went through at 45.
Burned some gunpowder today. A few mags of 9mm, and 60 rounds of 5.56. Also some "best millimeter" and 12 gauge. My AR was a little dry and didn't want to feed from the pmags, but some 10W-40 fixed that.
I also got to bake a batch of cookies today, so all in all, not too bad of a day.

Glad MR Shipley was unable to read that.

That evil WD-40 never comes near my guns. I used Castrol High Mileage Synthetic Blend motor oil. Good AR lube for sure. It might work in an AK, too, but I think that may be sacrilegious. Vodka is the official lube for Kalashnikov's creation, I think.
40 and cloudy here today. Supposed to get some white stuff later.

All is forgiven. You might want to stick some WD-40 on that boot though. :o
Got about two inches of that white stuff last night, but it melted off by 10am.
So far today I've worked on a paper, done laundry, studied for a test, and called my mommy. Sort of productive.

Just throw this out to the first cousins. I bought this Spanish made S&W russian copy some years back. It was never 100% - i may have paid way too much (story of my life). I really never knew the exact caliber- i shot .44 russians from it. They chambered and extracted properly. However a webly round might be suitable. Never tested. The cylinder never locked up till hammer was pulled back or pressure was put on trigger. Double/single action. Getting harder to oull hammer back and probably needs someone with steady hands to go theu it. Finish was nickle but mostly gon now. The grips are good and lanyarn ring still there.
If any of you are interested gve me a yell.

Had a psychology test this morning, then another patience test when I got into my truck to go get some more cream for my coffee. Darn thing wouldn't start. Had fuel and battery, but doesn't seem to have spark. I didn't get around to checking the ignition fuse yet, my fingers were already cold. Probably go check that in a little while.
Hopefully get to fly later today.

Roo, I believe I have the very same pistol, But in Blue, Mine says "For .44 Special or US Service ctg." on the barrel. Will have to dig it out and see what the brand name is.
On top of barrel is "Aranzabal &Erusta, Eibar Espania"

Yes, Eibar was the Gun making capital of Spain.
I got mine from an estate sale of a former Town Police officer(in late 40's -50's)

Yepper ....That is correct, I looked at an Eibar 12 guage SXS today for my FFL, to value and help him list it.
it was a Charles Harvan import , Castillion grade SxS shotgun by MUGICA, SUC. DE J.C. = Jose Cruz.
Probably early to mid 1960's
