Reloading tool Q

Wondering if i got this right?
First hole is calibrating the bullit?
Second hole is for primer seating?
third hole for seating and crimping the bullit?
Forth hole is for casting (this one needs no ?  )

Well Kid, i was thinkin' of buing a pocketrevolver and after i talked to the dealer
and my pards at the Boss forum.
This showed up on the Swedish version of ebay (tradera)
.38 S&W is not a big caliber here in sweden so naturaly i had to have it.
To top it of i called a local dealer to ask him to get me some brass,
and he offerd me loaded ammo (lapua) cheaper than new Starline brass.
Some one is trying to tell me some thing, no?

Just to try to help you out here.

1st - Make bullet in the 4th hole.  The mold.

2nd - Size bullet in 1st hole.  The one with the long stem.

3rd - Deprime casing and sometimes expand neck with separate plug(slides into the casing with depriming stem in flash hole) in the 3rd hole.  Close pliers and the primer is pushed out.

4th - Prime casing in the 2nd hole.  The one with the short stem.

5th - Load BP only (in this type of loader) then place sized bullet in casing mouth, then place in 3rd hole and squeeze plier handles together until closed. The bullet should be pushed in and seated on the powder and crimped.

6th - Pull pliers apart and completed bullet should be pulled out and ready for use.

I have several of those types of reloader and still use them for loading severl of BP calibers.

If you are talking collectors variant, I am not.  It is an Ideal reloader.  I admit the setup is slightly different from the ones I have, with the primer in the handle instead of on the nose.  But, still is an old time Ideal reloader.  They did vary their lay-out patten, but they all did basically the same thing.  Check over on Ebay, there are always several listed.  I have a 38/40 and a 41colt.  I could have others but did not shoot the caliber therefore no reason to buy.  I also have the Winchester loaders in 44/40 and 44Rus.

I would like a 38SW(don't really need it, don't shoot enough of that caliber), 38colt(hard find), 45colt(popular) and 45/70.   The 45/70's go for nothing less than $100.  That is too much for me.

My dad has had his Ideal/Lyman tool for loading/casting 30-30 like that for MANY years.

My first tool for loading 44-40 is my Lyman 310 tool and dies.

I have both large and small, but, only use the Large for 30-30, 30-06, and neck sizing my 38-55.

It works VERY well for BP/subs.
