May flowers bring coffee, tea and grub
« on: May 01, 2022, 06:43:19 AM »
Morning y'all.
Coffee and tea are ready.

Ditches are full.

'Tis 41 and overcast. "Cloudy with a chance of showers. Patchy fog in the morning. Nearly steady temperature in the upper 40s. Southwest wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent."

Welcome to the sunny wet South!

A quick review of last month says all is normal in BS land.

Did watch a decent movie on TV the other night. Vietnam era, cast included Dale Dye.
A Full Measure.  If you haven’t seen it, it’s worth the price of a bag of popcorn.
Being a former Airman myself, I appreciated the story.

Anyways thinking about the Mexican holiday coming later this week.
What I can and cannot eat.

Not much to report.

I will get back to my doodling.

All but completed the Ruby WW1 Shadow Box,
I was looking for an original WW1 Victory Medal to add next to the original Croix de Guerre.
But lost out on the eBay auction

I will place it on display in the WW1 exhibit.

Got back today from the Alabama State Championship, Shootout at Cavern Cove. Great facilities and folks. The theme was "Ghost Chickens in the Sky" so you know it was a fun match. I wound becoming known as Deacon KFC! Already looking forward to next year.

Evening all.

Today hit 60 degrees in Missoula, with a light overcast. I had the weekend at home, and tomorrow head back to Great Falls and the doings of Big Blue.

Y’all enjoy shooting season for me.

Big batches of Great Northern get ate on a day or so and then get turned into baked beans and the leftovers bagged.  Pintos the same but refried, butter beans get frozen as in because they are my favorite for ham and beans.

Going to the store a bit later to get my beans and a ham butt (Del got me on this kick)

I might look for butter beans, but seldom see them. I know they'll have GN's, I'll add carrots & some onions.
I'll let them soak & cook all day, have some for dinnertime, pack some for my lunch at the museum tomorrow and freeze the remainder.

Roast was very good, and I save a piece for nooning today.

Added to the man cave temporality, then I'll take it to the Museum WW1 exhibit.

Still looking for a Victory Medal, but I may just display it as it is now.

Major, this Museum is fortunate to have you. I'm looking forward to visiting it in the not-too-distant future.
You need to learn to like all the little everday things like a sip of good whiskey, a soft bed, a glass of buttermilk,  and a feisty old gentleman like myself

Thank you, it is a symbiotic relationship, I'm equally happy to be there,
Frankly, I enjoy keeping the creative juices flowing and examine some very cool artifacts I might have never had.

John, you are most welcome, I look forward to your visit and to any Cas City folks. :)

At some point this winter or early 2023, we are expanding to a second floor and double our exhibit square footage.

Afternoon all.

72 degrees and sunny in Great Falls.

Once I finish doing the work of Big Blue, I’m going over to a coworker’s house to help him pull down an acre of old wire fence as he gets his property ready to change hands. I’m not sure how I got into that position, but there’s food attached, so it could be worse.

Howdy Y'all,
things have not been very good lately, My mom who is 87 fell and broke her left femur on Sunday,Called the ambulance and took her to the hospital.Took forever to get a room for her. Performed surgery Monday morning and put a rod in her leg. She's doing good, but caught covid while there,Tested negative when she was admitted, and positive yesterday. She'll be transported to a rehab place tomorrow. She is doing good otherwise and has kept her spirits up. The insurance company of the woman that totaled my car finally accepted 100% liability, But is trying to screw me on the value of my car. I have enough to deal with without fighting these morons.
Respectfully,Major E.A. Sterner
