.......In other gun-related news, I sold my Ruger Max9, and bought a 1911 today. It’s a Turkish copy of an Officer ACP in 9mm. I know it isn’t in The Lord’s Caliber, but John Mosses Browning saw fit to chamber the Hi-Power for 9mm, so I at least can sleep easy knowing JMB is not totally against the cartridge. That’s also the caliber I have on hand. I pick up the gun in two weeks once it arrives at the store.

is it a Tisas or Grison ?  either way you have a serviceable firearm....

I just recently brought home a 9MM  1911 myself, it's the Springfield EMP, and I just made this holster for it.

Mine is a Girsan.

Which again points out it's not about recreating history.

To be truthful I never seen that it was despite claims, like the movies it's entertainment.  Not all bad but like IPSC, sporting clays and other such stuff it ain't even close to being real.

Morning all.

My family safely crossed the Rockies, arriving on my front stoop at about 11:30 last night. Shenanigans have ensued.

The closest I get to a Walmart is the gas stations out front.... I haven't been inside one in 11 years... :)

I will make my Green Bean casserole and stuffing, but I'm having the turkey farmed out.
Just the better half and me this year.

59 here right now. Resting with a few minutes of quiet since family got here and we came home form the get-together early to get a jump on cooking for tomorrow. In just a few minutes 4 teenage girls will arrive and no quiet will be had until the morning! It's all good as Great-Uncle Deac gets hugs.

Good news  :)

We are pretty sure I have had more than one heart attack, but got away with minimal damage.   This likely being the worst on in Sept of 2019, my famous almost last words being, "it's just acid reflux, I will be fine in a few minutes." ::)

Big one is on Sat at the nieces, she's doing most of it, Rita has to make some dip she makes, I may make some rolls, optional, she said she had standby heat and serve if I don't feel like it.

Was going to be the 3 of us tomorrow, but have added 4 more with no where to go, strip steaks, about a pound each, got a whole strip loin for $5.99, have to play butcher in the morning.

Should be safe but the first one who says, "if you actually cook it you will ruin it" will get whacked with my cane, told I'm not you.  Yes I will half cook it for any Neanderthal that wants, why waste my skill. ;D   Slim and Micha knows i can, juicy, no red and just whack it off with your fork and butter, butter is involved in making a steak right, can't make steak with out butter, glad cholesterol ain't one of my worries. ;D

If I was a cook in a busy steak house I'd chase you out with a meat cleaver if you asked for this and I'd give the waitress a butcher knife if you added eggs over hard unbroken. ::) ;D

The Malliard reactions convert the simple sugars and amino acids to flavor, but had to be done with out drying the meat out making it tough, as the beef fat renders out it need replaced with fat to lubricate the meat fibers, butter is much better flavored than beef fat any way, that's why we use it on fresh bread and not beef fat. :P

We live in a strange world where people like to under cook their steak and over cook their bacon.    ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)

Happy T-day, enjoy your festivities with Family, Friends and Food, include Parades & Football if that is to your liking.  :)

U-See-Um is closed today, but I'll cover the weekend & 1st.  3 days next week, my co-curator is traveling to Family.
We are setting up for a special Pearl Harbour exhibit running on the 7th, with many artifacts recently acquired (2021) and not yet on display.

Morning y'all,
Coffee and tea are ready.

Thanksgiving meal at 1100.

'Tis 28 and light sn*w. "Colder. Cloudy with a chance of snow showers and light freezing rain in the morning  then partly cloudy in the afternoon. Highs in the middle 30s. Northwest wind 10 to 20 mph. Chance of precipitation 20 percent."
