The Leather Shop / Re: New Skiving Knife
« Last post by Marshal Will Wingam on Today at 03:26:45 PM »
I like the angled skiving knife a lot but there are times when I find I want something like just the center section of a round knife without those big points sticking out on both sides preventing you from choking up on the thing. So I grabbed my last worn out circular saw blade and made one. That gets rid of another worn out saw blade and turns it into something useful. The protective sheath is assembled with rivets so the blade wouldn't cut through any stitching. It was only an 8" blade and there is a hole smack in the middle so I decided to use that to my advantage. Also, it keeps me out of the house which is running 80+ degrees in the afternoons. The garage is only around 65, which works for me. I'm done making knives for a while, now

Hi Everybody
Cathy asked me to use my account to post a thank you from her. She says:

"Thank you so very much for the beautiful bouquet and gift card. It was absolutely beautiful and I was so surprised. You guys shouldn't have, but I loved it. You guys are all so awesome and I truly enjoyed cooking a few meals for you all. It's always so good seeing you all each year. Thanks again for the nice surprise!"

Aside from the occasional basket weave, most folks are real happy for you to knock there intials on it. Too boring.

Hola folks, 74 here right now, supposed to hit 94, if'n it doesn't I will not complain. Heading to the Doc in  a bit for my pre-colonoscopy visit. Oh joy. Waiting for a bowler hat to arrive, ordered last week, couldn't resist the sale price. I'm filling in behind the pulpit at Church tonight, as our Pastor is out of town. Del, it sure is good to have you back, the place ain't the same without you. Give Riley an ear scratch.

Rimmed or rimless? Maybe a 9.0 x 47R. Make the chamber casting. Might be able to use .38-55 brass.

Remember the ammo that Dave came up with?  I think it was basically 44 Russian with a 44 Colt rim.  Wonder how much of that ever got made.

My first suit coat was 44 ( I was 17), 30"  waist. Not that NOW

Back when life afforded me the time to be involved with the Jesse James Farm, we had pistol shoots.  One of the targets was an Ace of Spades.  This was based on one found at the farm, shot and signed by Frank James.   So, plus 1 to the playing cards as well.

If your barrel can be relined John Taylor would know.
