Well Pards, I just can't relate to this listing. "Little Big Man" would never have been on my top 25 nor "Butch & Sundance." But I'm sure Clint's fine work would be in my top 10!! :)

I'm sure this listing was kompossed in Hollyweird.

Ya gotta remember that when 'Little Big Man' came out it was a whole new twist on cowboy movies.  Before then they were pretty much shoot 'em bang bangs and the plots were almost predictable, with few exceptions.  This was the first movie that actually had the cahonies to show us that the white man was really not ALWAYS the good guy, General Custer was a jerk,  and for the most part the redman was getting seriously screwed.  This movie was a turning point  in the the look of the western movie, they were never the same after it.
NOW...I got a line for ya....."Life is so rediculous, it ain't worth livin'" Who said it and what movie?   ;)

I disagree with most of his top 10!!!!!
Where are the classics....Chisum....Rio Bravo/Lobo......
The Man Who Shot LV....the list can go on for ever!!!!!
We need to make our own top 20......
TR

Maybe we do need to make our own top 20 or 25 best westerns (not motels, but movies) list.  Anybody know enough about this forum's poll capabilities to determine if it's feasible to use it for this purpose?  If so, we could use the poll to decide which of the original list need to stay or go, and then start adding. What say you?

This one isn't from a "cowboy" western, but it's close.

"I, Hatchet Jack, being of sound mind and broke legs, do leaveth my rifle to the next thing who finds it, Lord hope he be a white man. It is a good rifle, and killeth the bear that killeth me. Anyway, I am dead. Sincerley, Hatchet Jack."

Need the actor who spoke those lines, his character, and the movie.

100%, Shiloh.

Had an MRI on my brain yesterday and, since I'm claustrophobic in those things, I opted for the "virtual" option (goggles and earphones that allowed me to watch a video).  Hadn't seen Old Jeremiah lately, so that's the one I took with me.  Saw that part of the movie and just knew it had to go here.

That's why I said "...who "spoke" those words...
Poor old Hatchet Jack was way beyond speaking when Johnson found him.

Shall we try a new one?

I knew'd a fellow once, his wagon team got away with him and run a wheel spoke right through his middle. Bled hisself out, right there. Don't you know how easy it was? It was like taking a little sleep under a shady tree, didn't hurt none at all. He just got kind of drowsy, and he just, well, he just dozed off. Well, sir, it ain't gonna be that easy for you. No, sir, not that easy.

Talkin about western movies, if you have any Ben Johnson Posters, put them on eBay.  I got a big shocker this week when an old poster I had went for
$161.00.  Funny thing about it was I had two posters; one of Ben in a shirt advertisement, the bidding was busy on it.  The other poster was one of the PRCA world champions done in 88.  When I realized Ben was such a collectable I remembered he was in the PRCA poster also.  I changed my add to say that and the next thing I know $161.00.  Guess a lot of people didn't realize he was on that one.
Ben & my dad use to team rope together back in the 50's, so he was just a family friend, not a movie star to us, LOL.  So I never guessed he was collectable.

Here is one. It is not a quote. Two characters refer to each other as "Big Casino" and "Little Casino. Who are the actors, characters, and the movie?
