First two holsters I made.

I just finished my first two holsters. One is for a Ruger Single-six. The other is a shoulder holster for a H&R pocket pistol. I haven't made the harness for it, yet.

Good stitch job.  Is it hand or machine?  If it is hand, then it almost looks machine stitched.

Good lookin' work, Slim.

I'm still using the two homemades I started with, about 18 months ago. A couple of notes from the field:
  • Be sure your method of attachment to the belt keeps the holsters from swinging back and forth, unless you're planning to use tie strings.
  • You might want to back stitch at the top, along a slightly different line, the way you see on "commercial" leather. That keeps the stitching from pulling out so readily. Right behind the trigger guard is the spot that gets the most stress, and that second line of stitching you see on fancy holsters is functional, not just decorative.

Don't know if you bought a copy but Making Holsters by Al Stohlman is a great beginner book.

You must live in one of the few area's that Tandy is selling leather yet instead of electronic gizmos, You might also try weavers leather
