Favorite Cowboy LawDog

Who is your favorite LawDog?
The Character not the Actor; historical or fiction. For example, Matt Dillon, Rooster Cogburn, Wyatt Earp etc...

There are so many to choose from so I'll have to think on this one.

Fiction: Mine has always been Matt Dillon. I was introduced to the Old West watching Gunsmoke in the late 60's.

Non-fiction: Wyatt Earp.

Fictional is a no-brainer.  Marshall Dillon, hands down the best lawman on TV.  Non-fictional gets a little trickier.  Wyatt Earp and Bat Masterson are my top two choices.  Earp, because of the myth surrounding him.  Masterson, because I think he was the best of the best.

Matt Dillon has to be best lawdog on TV. I like The Duke's character "Rooster Cogburn" (Which is one of my personas) and Sheriff John T. Chance (My other persona) from "Rio Bravo".   Pat Garrett would have to be my favorite REAL LAWDOG. :) ;) ;D 8) ::)

1. Matt Dillion

2. My Dad.  He was a Detroit cop in the 50's and early 60's. I will never forget when he came home on the night that he quit being a lawdawg. He can in the house, put his gun up, turned to my mom, and said: "We were just told that we can't shoot fleeing felons anymore! Piss on that! I am going to get a job at one of the car plants tommorw!

He did just that to. He retired from chrysler corp. in 88. Died from cancer in 91. What a guy.

3. Jerry Lee from the movie K-9
