Title: Original nipple wrench
Post by: bear tooth billy on April 27, 2022, 07:17:10 PM
I recently got an original 51 Navy, first thing took it to my gunsmith and
he agreed it is very good condition and encouraged me to shoot it. But first
he said to make sure I can get the nipples out for proper cleaning. I may or
may not shoot it, but would like to get the nipples out. The cylinder is soaking
for a week. Question what nipple wrench will fit these the best? Thanks

Take a look at "Track of The Wolf" or even Slix.

If the nipples are seized, you may want to make a "board."  Half in thick piece of wood, drilled for a dowel the same size as the Arbor hole, and a second dowel, the same size as the chamber, to hold the cylinder solidly as you work on the nipples.
