Guess I'm outta luck, thanks for looking
« on: August 27, 2023, 04:50:03 PM »
As title says, haven't had a 44-40 in a dozen years.  Sold all my brass or sized it to 38-40 if it was too many times fired to sell.

Have a chance to buy my grail, a military henry in 44-40.
Any brass would help until someone makes some again just so I can shoot .
Thanks for any help

Dang it, just bought my 11 year daughter a 32-20 73 so she can shoot with me.

Would take anything I can get

Someone offered some 44-40 on a different forum but it ended up being a scam

100 44/40 empty brass will fit easily in a small USPS Priority mail flat rate box (free at the PO.)
I think the current rate is $9.45 domestically.

The padded envelope (also free) is cheaper @ $7.75 so use the small box and then put it in the padded envelope. (You could also use the empty boxes the loaded rounds came in)
when planets align...do the deal !

The little priority box is now something like $10.40 these days.  They had another price increase recently. They sure have a lot of those.

FYI if you use one of the online shipping services like PirateShip (corny but definitely legit) or Shippo, the small flat rate box is only $8.10.

Also, the new USPS Ground Advantage service has lower rates but includes tracking and $100 insurance like Priority Mail.  Prices start at $4.75 but are even cheaper through a service like PirateShip.  The only real advantage of Priority Mail is it's (sometimes) faster (and maybe if you need to insure it above $100, as I haven't looked into that).
