Gentlemen,  Just saw where What Price Glory is carrying the M1889 Whites.  They look good!

Only on ebay, but very nice looking, and a good price.

I'm wondering if they would be modify-able for anything else.  It's always nice if you have a reasonably priced place to start.

Hi

I looked at those, they only have a 33.5 inch inseam and I'm a bit tall for that.  From the pictures I've seen of the White Duck uniforms, they wear brogan style shoes with them.  It also said that those are fatigue and service uniform, and are WHITE.  White pants, BBQ sauce, and / or red dirt, that just ain't gonna end well.

Did anyone order them yet?

Ah, working whites and spaghetti . . .  (but hey, I didn't get any on the Dixie Cup!)

Ned,

It's time to reach a little deeper into your pocket and get a proper set of USMC whites.  Leta at Coon Creek can make them for not much more than you would have invested in this project by the time your done and these would look right.  Buck was wearing Marine whites that Leta made at the last SASS convention and they looked great.  Pitspitr has Army 1895 undress whites now, I've even had Leta update my 95 Army undress whites to the 1902 version (she sent me a pair of epaulets to add to them), now I can enter the dress uniform contest with a totally new uniform.  I'd be willing to bet we could even get Drydock to spring for a set of Navy Captains whites, what do ya think?

I'm already working on 1875 Undress Blues.  Not quite as susceptible to food stains!  I may have to look at how different my 1989 issue whites are to the 1912 version.  I know the cover is different, but not a lot else.

Hi

I'm in, but with a minor list of demands:

1.  All white food, this may include chicken in cream sauce, cauliflower, rice, white beans, white wine, angle food cake, boiled shrimp, no cocktail sauce and potato soup.

2.  I need to find a way to get the sweat smell out of white canvas duck without damaging the Scotch guard.

3.  We can wear bibs.

GAF BIBS ;D  I like it ;)  Would this be an issue item or will we have to buy our own?

I was putting my uniform judging form together and I need to correct my previous post.  The epaulets became regulation in 1901, not 1902.

Well, I'm thinking that the GAF Patches over a nice 3 or 4 foot canvas poncho style bib would work.
