Got them in the mail yesterday and the look pretty good! (just like my brown pair from Cabelas)

The belt works as well...its black, what more can you say?

I have my 58 Rems in the holsters right now.

How does one "wet" them and get them to form around it better?

Dip the whole holster in water for 10 seconds or so. The leather should be malleable. If not, soak them a little more. Then wrap a couple ziplocks around your guns and push them in. Work the gun a little to loosten the fit slightly. Some pards leave the gun in until the holster dries overnight. I leave it in for an hour, then take it out for an hour, alternating like that until the holster is dry. I like to set my holsters in the sun to speed the drying. I tried one in the over on low and trashed it so you don't need to go there.

Well, I wrapped my pair of 1851s and my pair of 58 rems in plastic wrap REALLY well and then slid them into their respective holsters.

The Rems go into black holsters.
The Colts go into brown holsters.

We shall see what the results are like tomorrow.

Wish me luck!!! I'll post pics when they are done.

The 1851s are for Grampa to shoot this season. The Rems are for me. ;)

Howdy Pards.

Dakota, Pard be sure to "bone" them,  use an antler tine, or a table knife handle and rub the leather into the gun.  Not only does this make the fit better, it compresses and compacts the leather and makes the holster stiffer.  Hand molding the holster will also let you widen the mouth and tighten the hold. Wet molded holsters will retain the arm better than non-fitted so are safer.
