I'm in the market for an open top, are there any dealers in Canada beside Wolverine (they have only two)? Caliber and barrel length are not important.

MarStar carries Piettas.
Get on Canadian Gun Nutz for good used guns and dealers.

If'n you ever get your hands on one, I have a nice holster for one... Just saying... ;D
-
Just bought a second hand Uberti 1872 in .45 Colt, finally got my open top! Gonna need a cross draw holster fer it, pilgrim!
-
If you are using it in matches, how much cant do you like on your cross side?
-
How much cant am I allowed before the ROs and other shooters get nervous?
-
Your sport, not mine. I just make holsters ;D
-
SASS rules are maximum of 30 degrees from vertical, as worn.
-
Very good to know, thank you Abilene ;D
-
So I guess it's gonna be 30 degrees.

Don't forget the "as worn" part. If your belt tilts down in front like a lot of them do, that will increase the angle.

YUP! I figure roughly 15degrees. Ends up straight down on strong side and 30 Degree on the cross. Depending on to amount of wealth displayed in the area above your belt buckle. Yer mileage on the treadmill may vary. Try some sample holsters before mortgaging the spread.

Well........ I am truly blessed! After putting out the thought/desire to own an Open Top a fellow member here offered an 1872 Uberti in >45 Colt 7 1/2" barrel, bought it, actually got to shoot it ONCE before the ranges in Canuckistan were shut down because of the ' bullshiite' (sic) coronavirus. Sold a Ruger #3 custom .38-55 taking another 1872 5 1/2" Open Top in partial trade, this one is .38 special. Now have to wait for the transfer to come through. Will post pics when I figure out how. Now I want another one.......................!
-
And.................I got one! ;D Richard/Mason conversion by Uberti, 8" barrel, .38 Special in nickle. Accurate and shoots to the sights, I like the way long barrels handle! Sure wish I could post pics.

Try Shooter's Choice in Alberta, their current Uberti page shows a couple of 1871 Open Tops.

Thanks for the lead, found a Uberti Mason conversion in .45 Colt, 8" barrel, at Prophet River, ;D waiting now for the transfer, Ontario CFO is very slow. Gonna load .45 Colt Extra Short (.45 Cowboy Special) brass using .45 ACP target load data in this one and the 1871 I bought from you. Been wanting to try APP powder, black substitute, but no luck finding any in Canada so far. :( Perhaps some other Canuckians have a lead?

SO............ APP Canadian distributor says they have not had any for several years! Damnnnnn........!
-
And STILL no transfer! Sure wish we had the 2nd amendment here in Kanuckistan!
-
FINALLY! Transfer approved, package shipped and received, what a beauty! Uberti Mason conversion in .45 Colt, 8", and it works. Arbor too short, of course, typical Uberti, but timing is great, no over travel of the cylinder (I have a new Pietta bolt waiting just in case), fitted a coil hand spring today, using the #10 washer as per Coffinmaker for now, made the rear sight notch a bit deeper, time to go Boom, Boom, Boom now! ;D
-
Congrats on the new family member ;D
-
I'll show you mine, if you show us yours ... ;D
Richards-Mason and Model 1871 Open top ... both .45 Colt ...
