I quite see the Parliament of owls asking 'WHO',  That's about all they normally say.  :) :)  However the Congress of baboons, I think would go directly from disagreeing to beating each other soundly about the head and shoulders (maybe it's no different from most ruling bodies after all).   ::) ::) ;D ;D ;D

Grandson requested cheesy scrambled eggs, baked beans on toast and orange juice. And bacon. Gotta have bacon.

Weather going to get into upper 50's next few days, 60℉ by Saturday. Might have to get the lead pot on the back porch fired up and cast some bullets. Got a new mold for the Richmond .36cal conicals I want to try out in the cap 'n' ball revolvers.

Morning all.

The most I ever got off a box of cereal was a crossword puzzle.

Weather decided to get warm the past couple days,  been in the high 40s.

I have my cdl drive test next Wednesday, and my monthly pilgrimage to Great falls for Uncle Sam this weekend. Beyond that, not a lot going on.

I did get a new holster for my 38. It’s a Blackhawk ARC. So far I’m liking it. Keeps my little revolver well hidden even under just a t shirt.

35 and cloudy today in Missoula. Supposed to get a couple inches of white stuff through the day.

I am taking the day off from work to play butler today.  The other half took a bad fall from a horse last night, and can’t really walk. X-rays don’t show any breaks, but definitely a lot of bruised bones.

Sparrow grass is cheap this year, cheaper than I've ever seen it, been paying around a $1 a bundle, low salt pickled sparrow grass, 2nd and 3rd batch, the new stuff is the darker green to the right.  Great for snacks.

For those who don't eat much asparagus eating large amounts does have an odd side affect, don't worry if your pee is a bit green and you decide to pee outside or are forced to by household members, it's worth it.

No asparagus yet in our "new" garden, need to go down to the old house and garden and check there.

My 'o3 is needing a proper stacking swivel, has one swiped off of my '03/A3, the stamped sheet metal kind. Got the proper band(currently on the 'A3) just need the swivel, and probably the screw.

Evening all.

Weather got into mid 40s here today. Low 20s tonight.

Work was frustrating today. Started off by having to drag 180 feet of hose across the customer’s dog poop dump site.   All for a measly 600 gallons of shower water. Took longer to lay the hose than to pump the tank. ::)

From there I had to deal with the DMV for a CDL test. Naturally they were late, and had the wrong paperwork. From there they were generally rude and grumpy. They decided to fail me on the road test for not checking an intersection AFTER passing through it. I’m rather peeved at them. I did get a perfect score on the backing up skills portion though.

Post-test we had to pump a tank at a construction site that nobody knew existed. County doesn’t have any record of it either. It was about 800 gallons of water, with 2 feet of mud at the bottom.

Anyway, I’ll end my ranting there.

My Charter 38 got a nice coat of wax today, just for monthly maintenance.  I was within a gnats eyelash of getting a Chief Special pre-Model 36. But then some unforeseen expenses have arisen, so I had to let it pass.

Good Morning All.

35℉, winds have subsided. High today in low 50's.
Yesterday was trash pickup day and there were strong winds, so the trucks were leaving a trail of debris that was blown out of the trashcans when mechanically grabbed and dumped into the side of the garbage truck. Couldn't be avoided, and they could not spare the time chasing that litter down. Collateral damage, I suppose.

Coffee machine was cleaned yesterday with vinegar and new filter replaced in water reservoir, so it might taste a bit off. Odd how you get used to having coffee flavored with impurities being the norm yet after the pot is cleaned and filter replaced it has a funny taste.

With the cooler weather return today is going to be a hot oatmeal day. Choice of blueberries or bananas to add.

Off to the Eye Doc today to have annual check. Then my six month visit to the Teeth Doc tomorrow. Getting all caught up on routine health stuff before traveling to the NCOWS Convention next week. (Wife and I getting second vaccine shot this coming Tuesday. Hoping there are no adverse reactions as has been reported by some with receiving the second dose.)

This is going to be a great year!
Keep up with those pandemic protocols for your own safety and those loved ones you come in contact with.

My second dose was two weeks ago yesterday, no reaction either dose....other than GLAD I got them.
I'm still practicing protocols for safety and for those around me just makes since, it ain't no conspiracy.

It has been a weird and tough week ....

I'm considered family.
John was well known and liked, everywhere I go at our regular haunts I get condolences.

Clear and 25 in Missoula today so far.

Spent all weekend out at the barn feeding horses. I didn’t sign up for this, yet somehow ended up with the task. Still trying to figure that one out. ???

In Gun land, the local sportsman’s warehouse just got a shipment of Kimber Micro-9 pistols in. I like the 1911 style pistols, even if they are tiny. One may follow me home today.

Good morning Gents , thanks for the coffee,  I chased it down with an Everything topping bagel...

In other news, I have to say my interest in firearms is Eclectic  :)
Steel & wood or occasional hard rubber, Bakelite grips on pistols .... I have but one Poly-gun in my SIG 365 carry.

From 1860's to WWII and old western arms and some unique European capture/bring backs.

Recently I acquired a somewhat rare pistol in this country, though a few were imported in late 70's.

This is my near mint MAB PA 15 ( Manufacture d'armes de Bayonne  Pistolet Automatique 15 )
The founder of MAB, Léon Barthe began producing Pistols in South of France in the 1920's , The Germans occupied and ran the factory during WWII. After World War II, his son Jean took over the company, and within a few years MAB began to produce a number of new pistol designs.
The P-15 was their first effort at building a service pistol for serious police and military use.
In trials the well made offering competed for Frances Military contract , besting The Browning High Power's 13 round capacity.
The gun did win a military Finish contract , and goodly number were purchased by the French Air Force and some Special Forces.
However, the MAB PA 15 ( 15 rounds ) lost out to the Beretta 92 in special "made is France " factory contract. Ownership wound up being a subsidiary of Fabrique Nationale of Herstal sometime in the 1970s.

The gun is completely machined from forged billet steel , no castings , 9MM Para , a Target model and Commercial version were also produced...
This one is a M1 military issue, manufactured in 1971-2 no import marks.

Heavy @ 3 lbs loaded ( 15 round Magazine + 1 in the tube ) it is a tack driver, as recoil is minimal.

30 round Magazines are available, but I don't see me getting one...

I got a package from MidwayUSA with 6 bottles of Lee Liquid Alox and shell holders for .32-20. Now, I am set to load for my Colt Police Positive Special.

Evening all.

Weather was remarkably warm today, in the low 60s. Work was pretty usual, with the exception of starting an hour early.

Since we’re talking about plastic guns, I bought a Ruger Max-9 last night. They just released it, and it’s a competitor to the P365. Got it for $430. I pick it up Monday, once it makes it’s way through to the FFL

Is that an S/A pistol, M-2? Or DA/SA. Controls look 1911 like, but it appears to have a rotating barrel lockup?

SA and yes to rotating barrel lockup

It has a double stack 15 round Magazine , controls are much like a 1911

Site sore on arm, otherwise feeling good. Ditto the better half. (Maybe a tad bit tired, but at my age being tired is a defining trait. I wake up a bit tired.)
Any negative effects more than offset with positive excitement getting ready for the road trip to the NCOWS Convention.

I know many are still being cautious about pandemic and choosing not to go, and that is absolutely the right thing to do. No need to take chances.

Roger, I know a large part of your decision to not go is founded in that loss. Time will replace that emptiness with good memories.

Many of our Pards seem to come as a matched set when traveling to these events. Like Salt 'n' Pepper shakers, it completes the table setting. I am very thankful for Yuma Kid, and I know the large amount of gentle razzing he receives from me masks my deep appreciation of his company.

Got 100 93gr and 100 128gr .32 WCF loads for the Colt Police Positive Special. 2.5gr and 2.0gr of Trail Boss. Put 3 of each in it. I didn't feel any difference in recoil. But, the 128gr holes in the cardboard were more noticeable.

Haven't shot the New Service, yet. I loaded all my .45 Colt brass with BP. Ain't gonna shoot BP in it.
Done more research on it. It was made in 1909 and has the hammer safety. The same as the Police Positive. So, it is technically a commercial model Colt 1909.

I'm sure the 32-20 is like the 32 mag, loves heavy bullets they hit harder than most expect and the pernitrate deep, often deeper that most other pistol loads.

Morning all.

Got the truck out around 7pm. Turns out an abs sensor had come loose in the rear axle, and the computer thought the truck was continually slipping with the brakes applied (like they had to be for a hill start in a manual), and was trying to keep the truck from sliding sideways- by applying the brakes to whichever wheel started turning.  ::)  Got the sensor back in, and then had to pull the truck out because all the fiddling with the clutch had dug a hole in the ground. What fun.

On today’s docket, I have a tank to pump in Huson (about 15 miles west on I-90), some other odd jobs, and horse poop to shovel. Also have to swing by sportsman’s warehouse and grab a hunting license to please the ATF gods when I pick up my new Ruger on Monday.

Happy Spring y’all
Weather is a bit cooler after the storms Thursday. Yet it is sunny and bright.

Not much here- locally our little ass police department was involved in a shoot out yesterday.  No officers were injured.

Suzanne with her oldest sons help, were able to till the garden space yesterday. The majority of it has been idol., since I am unable to do it.  She also is trying a tarping method. Covered for a few weeks, till then recover for a week or so. Then till again.

She is hoping to start planting soon.

We don’t see Sandhill Cranes here. Hummingbirds are back though.
Daffodils are bloomed along with forsythia. Along with the never ending battle of mowing. Yep it’s spring.

Currently 40 degrees with about that much wind. Supposed to get some more white stuff overnight.

I picked up that Ruger today. So far I like it, but have to wait for range day next weekend. My initial impression is that I like it more than the Glock 43/42 or Springfield Hellcat. It’s about equal with the P365, though I like that all the models come drilled for a red dot. And I like the 1911 style safety.

I also got 50 rounds of 9mm fmj and 38spl fmj.

Evening all.

Today’s weather has been a weird mixture of snow, sleet, rain, hail, wind, sun, clouds, and all of them at the same time.  The one constant was that the temperature never ventured above 30.

Cdl test was a success. It was a different examiner, with less anger to take out on random guys trying to make a living. To celebrate, the office ladies made me pump a tank that hadn’t been pumped in 10 years, which required 150 feet of hose, and had a 200lb concrete lid. And to top it all off, the tank was under the back porch. Fun times.

The better half and I just got back from Cracker Barrel, and are now preparing for bed. I have a 5:30am job tomorrow at work. 18,000 gallon tank for the Marriott. Fun times,

Evening all.

Currently 25 and raining in the upper Bitterroot Valley.

Worked 11.5 hours today, and pumped 12,000 gallons. Was quite a day. So far I’ve logged 21 hours in the past two days.  I get to start again tomorrow at 5:30.

Dang!  Knees up or knees down?  Nevermind, speaking from experience it really makes no difference. Hope you're on the mend.

I don't enjoy a late night drives with  the porcelain bus , Hope you passed the adventure.

Just back from town, as I drove in , Fed-Up had left my 9MM ammo order ( got it on sale at pre pandemic prices )
They just left it by the front gate and drove off   >:( ( (350 feet from my garage )
Gate was wide open , all he had to do is drive back.  ::)

Lazy good for nothing driver !   Any wag could have seen it and stolen 500 rounds of NORMA 9MM  :o

I'm grateful I saw it first , and miffed he just blew the proper delivery off

About a month or 6 weeks ago, fed up left a package from Graf's reloading for me at the neighbor's doorstep. Had some black powder and smokeless, supposed to be "adult signature required" and they just left it on the doorstep. This particular neighbor was one of the few that fedup hasn't left something for me at his house before. So now there's maybe 2 people on the road I live on that haven't got something of mine courtesy of Fed Ex.
