If someone wants to shoot it, We'll offer all classes shown in the registration.  The hand gun must be a Milspec or of documented Military usage of the Victorian era,(Example: Custers Bulldog) no loading aids allowed.  You will engage all targets with it, rifle and pistol.

I want to get my registration and payment away ASAP also but, like Pitspitr, have been wondering how critical the indication of rifle choice is for the registration form.

EDIT:  Checking back on the earlier postings, I'm now thinking I may have at least partially answered my own question ....  Would I be correct that all we really need to indicate on the Registration is our intended "Battle Rifle Class", rather than a specific rifle?  In other words, if I specify "Milspec Single Shot, Black Powder" is that the information really being asking for?  (If so, that covers both my first and second choice - see below - and then maybe I could also indicate something like "Backup:  Scout- Lever action pistol caliber" ... ??

I have a variety of options, but the final decision (for primary choice, anyway) will depend on what I can arrange in the way of load development in the next month or so.  (All of the possible choices are covered on my Form6NIA import permit, thankfully.)

I am leaning toward my .577 Snider-Enfield Short Rifle as most appropriate for my primary field uniform for this Muster attendance.  The hollow-base bullet mould I have for Snider loading drops a projectile of 480 grains - right at the new upper weight limit for .50+ caliber, so I guess I'd be OK there.  It will really depend on whether I can get these bullets to shoot consistently.

Failing that (and/or as a "backup" rifle) I hope to ressurect the .577/.450 load I used to do for my Mk IV Martini-Henry, with 405 grain .45-70 bullets.  The final "fail safe" choice will be my NWMP carbine look-alike chambered in .45 Colt.    :-[

Well, at least I know what handgun caliber I'll be shooting - .455 Webley, of course!   ;D  (Still have a dilemna as to which revolver to shoot 'em out of, howsomever .....  ::)

That would be just fine, Jack.  Its not all that critical that you show up with the same weapons indicated.  Should you bring something different you would simply be placed in the appropriate class.

I mainly wanted the information to know if this class structure held interest, or would most folks simply want to maintain a Lever Gun format.  Initial indications seem to be that the Milspec classes do indeed hold a great deal of interest.

It's definitely on the Form 6NIA permit, John, and will be along ...   ;D

I have hopes of using it as my match revolver - cumbersome as it is - though it prints very high ... a foot or more at 25 yards!  :o  I am cogitating on how to rig up a reversible front sight modification to bring that down.  (Guess it is no different than many other military handguns of the era - designed to print to point of aim at 50 yards or more ...)

Sgt. Drydock,
How far in advance will you need to know about food reservations? I may bring my striker but won't know untill after school starts this fall if his schedule will allow.

Just let Kayleen know of the possibility.  You can simply bring him along and pay at the gate so to speak should his schedule allow.

I am new and from the ackley area.  I would like to know what type of pistols and rifles are allowed.  Is a kimber 1911 and a german g48 8mm allowed and if they are what type of ammo and clothing are needed.  Any response is helpful

Shotmywayout:  Unfortunately, neither of the firearms you mention would be allowable.  (Except that, if there is a "Wild Bunch" sidematch, the 1911 would likely be OK for that.)

Generally, however, this is still intended to be "late Victorian Era" shooting - i.e.  If you review the "Battle Rifle" thread, it may help with a sense of the sort of firearms which are suitable:

If I choose to shoot cap & ball, can my 2nd revolver for loading on the clock be an 1849 pocket?

Not looking for a debate, just a yes or no.

Should I assume there is no confirmation letter being sent out? Just show up?

I wasn't going to make it to the Muster, then circumstances changed recently. I was planning on arriving on Thursday to help set up. But, I may be having a job interview this week. I should know tomorrow if that is going to happen.

Therefore, I have not registered yet. Sgt. Drydock told me I could register at the range. So, Bristow Kid, count my head when yer counting. I will hopefully make it Thursday to help you. After I find out what is happening I will post it here.

Slim, after replying to your post on the Henry/66 site, I DO expect to see you at the Muster. There are already too many who won't be able to make it at the last minute. I'm going if I have to crawl all the way (from the truck to the registration table).
