Hello all, is there a way to tell when a colt1911 22 conversion unit was made? pre series 70 ,post ser.70.. are the markings different, are the sights different,, plain vs adj., any help would be great thank you

The key is the sights.
Late Conversion Units feature sights very similar to those seen on the Gold Cup - with an under-cut front blade.
Earlier ones were Colt-Stevens - like the ones seen on 2d Generation Woodsman pistols - but usually seen with a 'pyramidal' front blade.
