Once again we're all going to look like poor relations compared to Jack's splendor!

There was a time that would have garnered a trip to the tower to be hung, drawn and quartered unless just mercifully beheaded.

I have not decided yet. I have my eyes on a new kit but mostly I have been focusing on improving my campsite.

Here is my question, if I shot the main match staff officer what would I use to shoot the long range? I hope it would not be my SAA!

Well, I guess you could shoot it with your SAA, but I'd recommend your Spencer or Trapdoor Carbines or something. What would you like to shoot it with?

I would assume it should be a military rifle from the proper period and nationality rather than a civilian one. Is that correct?

I'm still playing with a new uniform and that might mean new guns (Oh darn!)

Shoot the long range portion with an appropriate rifle.  I'm planning on shooting Staff Officer with my DA .38.  I'll shoot long range with my Krag Infantry rifle.  There is quite a bit of latitude here.  Battlefield pickups are allowed. . .

Battlefield pickups are allowed. . .

As the old Sargent Major said in "We Were Soldiers", "If the time comes that I need a rifle, there'll be plenty of them lying on the ground"

Woo-hoo!! Order from Schipperfabrik finally arrived, only took 10 months..... >:(

Bayonet frog, 3 cartridge pouches, and suspender straps.

Wish they had the earlier brass buckle belt, I only have seen one of those on E-bay, part of a set of stuff and bids went well beyond what I had available to pay. Will have to keep using my CW belt with the sheet brass buckle.

Won't have to carry my French Lebel ammo in German M-1888 cartridge pouches this year....

My Canadian Militia Pattern 1863 tunic and trousers have been ordered ....

I have most of the rest of the kit, but need to get busy on completing some of it .... in particular rebuilding the shako I have (seen in "de-constructed" state at top left below) since the "kilmarnock" forage cap (the alternate headgear, next to it) sure doesn't do much to shade one's eyes .....

Expansion Era and Zoot Shooting I've got covered.

On the other hand I'm still cobbling together enough kit for two days of Victorian era shooting.  It will have to be a precursor to my 1916 Punitive Expedition uniform.  Some sort of field expedient Cavalry Captain or Major or both I expect.

Happy Trails

I'm kind of worried as to what I will wear. :o I've been a VERY easy keeper this winter.  :-[ I'm not sure any of my uniforms will fit, including my brand new M-1899

I hear ya, Jerry!  I must admit the sizes I sent in for this new uniform were the largest yet!    ::)

Oh well I can only hope that with some renewed physical activity this spring I'll shed some pounds .... ideally, enough that the new stuff is downright baggy on me!  I decided to order for my current size because I figured it is better to take things in than have to let them out!

At any rate, I'll definitely look more like the aging overweight re-enactors on the right above than the trim young militiaman on the left!

I've seen what you wear for Zoot Shooting and I'm guessing your idea of "cobbling together" together a uniform still might put most of us (other than Rattlesnake Jack) to shame. ::)

RSJ
When I ordered this uniform I thought I was building in some room for (ehem) expansion  ::) When It got here it was just about right. But with the weigh I've gained I really don't know if I'll be able to get it on let alone buttoned.

Just run up to the Muster site and back twice a day .... that should do it!
