Milk Creek Suttlery?
« on: May 18, 2011, 07:42:48 PM »
Gentlemen, I need some advice. Back in Feb. I placed an order with these people, the order was confirmed on Feb. 20th. As of today (18May) they have not cashed my check. I've called them three(3) times, each time they say they'll check and get back to me. I've given them e-mail, landline, and cell numbers, NOTHING. Do I need to cancel? I know that others have good results dealing with them, but my paitience has about run out. Any info on how to proceed would be apprieciated. Thanks, Al

I had no trouble what so ever with my order of a pair of dark blue 1858 infantry pants.  Really liked the quality of the wool and the workmanship.  Was surprised they came unhemmed.  Was able to hem them nicely by hand.

two rupees, a bowl of rice a day and a fish head once a week go a long way in that part of the world.

Gentlemen, an update. I finally talked to someone at Milk Creek who knew what was going on with my order. It seems that one item was out of stock in my size. I have no problem with supply and demand, works pretty well most times, HOWEVER being told three times that they would contact me and getting no response does tend to bother me. Long story short, the order has been cancelled and my money returned. I'm posting this NOT to belittle this Co. but only as a heads-up to anyone considering a future purchase with them. Al

i think the only way to deal with any of the sutlers , is to go see them in person, and to eyeball what you want , and if there to far away for that , deal with one that is the closest to you

There are several more with fine reputations like Kissimmee River Depot,  John Holmes another good friend I've know 30 years.
I have done Business with both.... I recommend them both, often when asked.

The only reason I am sure on the spelling is that he is on my speed dial since I have bought sooooo many guns through him.

I will also add James Country Mercantile.

Great customer service, historically accurate goods, and they support the community as vendors in the field.

I agree milk creek could do a lot better job of customer service and responding to inquiries but you cannot fault the quality of their product.  In the not to distant future I will order 2 coats and a pair of trousers from them.  I am not really in much of a hurry as they will be heavy wool.  Here in AZ I probably will not be able to wear them till Winter Range or may be mid jan, so slow service will not be a problem.
