I would also consider cap 'n' ball with conversion cylinders. You'd have to figure out .375HB slugs to bump up to the barrel, but it's doable.

Quote from: Jeremiah Jones on Today at 09:50:56 AM.45 Colt for me.  Store bought is running about $1.15 each here, now.  I have about 50 lbs. of lead and cast my own bullets, so I save considerable.  Also reloading is relaxing.

I have the large supply of lead because I war gammed with 25mm and 15 mm lead figures, cast fishing weights and .54 balls for my Hawkin.  After I quit war gamming, I melted the figures down and cast bullets for .45 Colt.

OH MY GOD! Jeremiah, say it aint so!
There are enough miniature wargamers out there that I would have thought selling them to eager consumers with handfuls of cash smokin' their pockets would have gotten you more. Then that could have been applied to reloading stuff . . .

It's largest to smallest.  Went with the side to side as it was a lot easier to build a reliable mechanism.  I can send you a copy of the score sheet I came up with.

Hi Dale
Obviously you should look yourself, BUT 4198 and 5744 had the same minimum and maximum charges for .30-40 Krag 210 grain lead round nose bullets.  5744 is / was a lot more expensive than 4198 4 years ago.

Hi
At SOME point, someone mentioned Front to back largest to smallest.  The PICTURE shows left to right, right?  If so, I'll try to build score sheets and send to Jerry, Dale, and Chuck.

Sometime back, probably five or so revolutions' of the earth around the sun I bought some bullets at a gun show. The seller (who I knew pretty well) had two 100 round packs of the Magtech SP primers he sold me for ALOT less than the big three brands were selling for at the time. Loaded some in my usual loadings of 38 Spec 150 grain cast and some in 357 Mag rounds using jacketed 125 grain Speer HP's and 156 grain cast with gas checks. No probs with them but I was shooting them out of a Ruger Vaquero, Colt Python, and Colt Mk III Trooper none with lightened after factory springs. A friend of mine has used Magtech off and on for sometime with no reported problems. I've shot alot of 9mm Magtech ammo (assume they have Magtech primers) with no problem. Ifin I needed primers and the opportunity for a good deal came along, I'd have no problem buying MagTechs for my reloading needs. FWIW have been reloading since 1976.  ;D

Dat be great information.  None of my guns are Federal Only and Cross yer Fingers light.  All are about the same as the recent OEM Pietta GW 2 springs.  Thanks for the insight!!
