In Arizona, 16 people who were hospitalized in June for toxic alcohol exposure admitted to drinking hand sanitizer. Six others suspected of doing the same also were hospitalized but denied drinking hand sanitizer, according to the Arizona Poison and Drug Information Center.

"No amount of methanol should be found in hand sanitizers. Methanol can be extremely toxic, which is why we are seeing such an increase in hospitalizations,” said the center's director Steve Dudley, in a statement.

Oh My yes... , I think I rmember that Robert Goddard used Methanol and Peroxide as rocket fuel?

And the most pathertic part is that people are trying to come up with "exotic store-boughten sterilizing stuff"

and the simplest cheapest most effective agent  is Soap and Warm Water!
Use it on your hands
Use it on your surfaces
Use it on your counter tops, clothing, floors, bathrooms, etc.

Just don't use the same sponge on the toilet them the kitchen counter!

(the two advantages to "hand sterilizer" are immediate conveniance; and areas with a lack of water, such as the numerous desert regions
and the Dineh ( Navajo) and Pueblo "reservations".  The Dineh must ration their water use severely, often making a single 55 gallon drum
of water last a week for the entire family, drinking, cooking, cleaning, etc. )

Seems like this hand sanitizer is good for cleaning one thing-cleaning out the gene pool!

I cannot fathom why anyone decides to drink this stuff... or sterno, or etc...
i can only assume that  we are seeing desparate alcoholics, or the demented or actual morons ( a person with a mental age in adulthood of between 7 and 10 )
being somehow convinced it will protect them.
