Timing issue question.

(1/1)

Buckaroo Lou:
I have a Stoeger/Uberti that has a slight timing issue. The revolver isn’t very old and hasn’t been shot all that much. The bolt is dropping a bit ahead of the cylinder locking notch trough. I replaced the bolt and it helped only slightly. I think my problem may be the cam that engages and disengages the bolt that is located on the hammer. Any advice would be very much appreciated.

45 Dragoon:
Try spreading the left arm out slightly. It's probably sliding off the side of the cam ( it should fall off the front). If it keeps on doing that, it will whittle the cam down to nothing. Also, check the bolt spring tension. It should be as easy to push the bolt down on this revolver as it is a Ruger SA.

Buckaroo Lou:
I can try spreading the left arm but not sure why that would change the position it slides off the cam. I changed the springs to Wolf springs.

45 Dragoon:
Your just trying to make it stay on the cam. Slightly bending the arm out will help it stay against the hammer and hopefully ride the cam.
