I just picked this 38 Special up a few weeks ago at what I thought was a fair price.   I thought the starting bid was very reasonable, and I was the only bidder.  Hint of a turn line, and a couple other minor handling marks, but will be a shooter anyway.

I know that gun!  I sold it to the dealer you got it from.  It is a gorgeous gun, I loved it, but like all of us I needed to move a gun or two to make room for another one.  Enjoy it!

That's pretty neat!  Did you ever fire it ?  Does not appear so.  The dealer was very surprised I was the only one to bid on it.  I know the feeling of making room for more guns.  I'm trying to offload some myself, but seem to keep running into others I "need" to have!  Seem to be some good deals out there lately.

I never fired it, in fact I did not have it very long.  When I got it I thought it was such a nice gun that I planned on keeping it, but along came an opportunity to get an engraved Henry (Cimarron, not an original!) that was done by a friend, so.... you know how it goes.  Enjoy your revolver!

I still drop by on a regular basis and poke around some.

Just got this pair of Rodeos back from John Adams.  I'm happy with the end result.   Also about to list a 1/2 dozen nice, all  USA made, blue and color cased, USFA guns on GB later this week or next.  45, 44 Special, 44-40 and 38.  All of them are 4 3/4".  Prices will be less than the typically upper limit Knothead likes to quote :)

My new pair of 45s by John Adams Sr. with actual two piece mother of pearl grips .

Seems to me that the younger buyers are only interested in black plastic -no appreciation for the quality and beauty of a USFA revolver. May not bode well
for future sales .

May be why  USFA has been out of business since 2011  8)

Young guy checking in - love my USFAs. Need some more.

I was just going through the 2004 catalog (love the catalog). Imagining what could have been.

The factory pictures are always neat to look at. Such a clean and organized set up they had.

I'd love to have a couple, but they just cost too much. I'd like one in .45 Colt with 5.5 barrel, all American made, cch, but can't seem to find them in my price range. Maybe I'm cheap, but spending more than a grand for a handgun is out of my reach.

The good news to the high priced USFA guns?

Except for the cosmetics, yes there is that   ;D,  the 4 click Ubertis of recent manufacture are every bit the tool that the USFA guns were.  And I say that having torn many of both apart and put them back together.  The opinion is not just an off hand, uneducated,  comment.  The Ubertis can be had for under $600 easy enough.  Which is less than a Rodeo was and the Uberti is still a better looking gun for most than the matte black Rodeo.   The nickel engraved guns above started as black matte Rodeos.

Uberti 44 Specials...

Uberti 32-20s

These days  you can still buy the Uberti "Old Model" BP frame and get a 4 click gun, or buy the hammer and trigger and convert the 3 click guns back to the original Colt design, which is easy enough with Uberti's parts.  I have some of both.

Yahoody,

Not trying to poke the bear, but have you ever had a Uberti engraved?

... have you ever had a Uberti engraved?

I haven't.  But it has been done.  There have been several posted on the Colt forum.    This one looks to be a very nice gun.

I posted these images of my newly acquired, John Adams engraved Cimarron in the Photos section, but I suppose I should have thought to post them here.  :)   The guns looks and feels great.  The action is nice and buttery.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
