Hello folks,
Ok, quick question .... who makes the "Lightning Rifle" for Rossi? Did they make themselves or did they contract with Berretta or something of the like.
I got a deal on a "nickel plated" one of these in .45 LC. The rifle is in-transit ... but I thought I would ask.
Thanks,

Rossi manufactured the rifles in a plant in Sa Leopoldo, Brazil.
-
But ..... They don't manufacture them anymore.

Hopefully your new rifle made it?
How about a report and some pics?

If you mean the pump action Lightning rifle, Rossi never made any. Are you thinking of Taurus?

Yessir....I was under the impression that Rossi was "absorbed" or bought by Taurus a few years ago so I would have to think the same thing. Might there have been a run of Lightning rifles with the Rossi name?

Taurus owns Rossi now and they share a facility in S. Florida but all arms are made in Brazil with a few exceptions mostly hand guns. Same company but two brands. Pretty much along the lines of Beretta who owns several different companies including Uberti and Stoeger among others.

Ok,
So I got the rifle a few days ago ... It is a Taurus and Not a Rossi. It is in Stainless instead of Nickel and looks like I was given the wrong info by the buyer.
I figure I will have to knock it up to lesson learned. I will take the rifle out to the range later this week or next and see how it shoots.
