Marlin 1892 Date of Manufacture
« on: October 14, 2021, 08:23:06 PM »
I have a Marlin 1892. I’m trying to find out when it was made. No markings besides the customary barrel address with final patent year of 1892 and a serial number. All the places I’ve looked at stop the serial number lookup at 355300 (1906), then pick up in 1948 with a letter code “E”. Mine has no letter code that I can find (where would it be?), the serial is 392XXX. Any Marlin folks out there that can help fill in the blanks?

Brother, basic information lists the 1892 was made 1895-1916 with total production of 45,000. Serial number ranges are between 90,000 to 412,000. Apparently there were many models with model specific serial numbers. Marlin mystery.
