Hey Fellas!

Just thought I'd share my latest project with ya's. It started life as a 7 1/2" Open Top in .45 Colt. I have two of these beauties, so I thought a little modifying on one was on order, just to make em' different. So I got out the hacksaw and did a little surgery.

I took 3" off, which put the length at 4 1/2", just past the ejector housing. It really perked this gun up! Much more lively in the hand now. All it needed was a new front sight. So I fabricated and installed one today. I think she's a winner now.

Some Lustrum(s) ago I decided my Open Top(s) were simply too long. The guns pointed well but were a mite slow out of the leather. I did the same thing. Whacked 'em off at the Ejector as you did. Balance is much much better with the shorter barrels. Way Cool Job!!

I've got one of the 5" ones in .44 Colt. A lively and spinnable revolver.

I have two of these pistols, and now I'm trying to decide of I want to shorten the other one too. I like the look and feel of the long barrel, but this little'n is just so lively now!

I bought an extra barrel and shortened it to 3.5" Surprisingly accurate and have been known to carry it concealed.

Nice guns. Concealed carry, eh? Hmm. Looking at it, I'm thinking someone needs to come up with a laser sight that could mount in the groove where the ejector was.
