John Wayne Style Holsters

Have wanted to make a set of holsters in the John Wayne style for a while and finally got around to doing so. I finished these in a dark brown dye. They house 5.5" Ruger or Colt style revolvers.

Those in the holsters are actually OMV but I tried them out with New Vaquero and a Colt clone also.

Thanks, that means a whole lot of other things will fit, too. I wonder how an 1875 or 1890 Remington would fit? The dark brown color is good on them. Very nice work.

Thanks. I like to fit some holsters to the old model vaquero sometimes that way more of a variety fits it. The 1875 fit it well also.

Hi Rube, Dang I never liked the Duke's holsters that well.  Too plain and not in a good way.  I generally LIKE plain.  Your rendition of them I like, go figure.

Actually, that's almost certainly True.  I wear Maroon shirts on BBQ day, white shirts to go out for Fettuccine Alfredo, etc.  The Dark Brown hides dirt.
