At the SASS Texas state match this weekend, Bootstrap Richard was on my posse, shooting his 45-60 '76 carbine in the Cody Dixon category, really fast, too! (He won the Cody Dixon lever category). I estimate targets were 40-50 yards. I will have a video of him up in a few days and will post it here.
And BTW, at every stage the last shell he ejected went WAY further back than all the previous ones and we had to hunt for them! Anyone else noticed this on theirs?

I suspect most folks are sitting in their recliner watching cowboy movies. ::)
-
actually, war movies & racing :)

I do watch alot of Grit.

Okay, here's Bootstrap Richard shooting Cody-Dixon at the SASS Texas State Championship. They usually shoot 6 rifle shots but only 5 on this stage since there were 6 shotgun targets.

Not yet!!! But I was prepared to update my profile avatar to a skeleton filled with arrows & tag line "why don't he rite?" 😅

No! I have not croaked! How ever I have been reading the notes that all have been sending. One bit of news I just got done reading has got my dander sort of up. As yuo probably know, I have and shoot a 45-75. I have used 348 brass for years and also 50-90 Sharps brass. But, the bestest was when it was up for grabs was Jamison. Now I read where 45-60 and 50-95 ammo is being made available. Noe I cannot fault those who have these rifles BUT how about those of us who have rifles in say the 45-75, 40-82 and 33 calibers? HMMMMM! Something to think about! Just food for thought! LarryO1

havent croaked - juust been off on another track for a bit
watched "Last of the Dogmen" a few nights ago - absolutely spectacular scenery

Absolutely, very cool movie... when it came out it closed within a week, did poorly in the theatres.
Just was not viable "title" or genre for the time, I guess.
Millennials, have no knowledge whatsoever "what" Dogmen are.
Not to mention Berenger, was not yet a top box-office draw,
and Hershey's star identity had fallen over whole Seagull hoopla.

Long live the '76 shooters! :D

Coffee for Oregon Bill. Thank ya'.

Coming clean today... when I quipped about changing my avatar & tag line, I was doing inpatient treatment. Diagnosis S-4 of the big "C". An example of my depraved sense of humor 😉😁 Projected expiration was Jan 24. Happy to report I'm still reading posts & making light of it all. And, a few more humorous tales have been added to my stand-up... or lying down routine- as applicable 😁 No worries, I'm now officially in remission 👍. Working on stamina & looking forward to deer hunting (mid-December hunt is with the 76).
Stealing Oregon Bill's line:
Long Live those 76 shooters !
So far, so good 😆

Slim
