12 shot 22lr
« on: March 18, 2021, 06:38:57 AM »
Well,,,i did it again. I bought a gun i know nothing about, paid a huge price, and now want to know what i have. I have a habit of this, but some guns just call to me and I can’t help myself,,,,

USFA in perfect shape. 22lr, with 12 shot cylinder.  Box and papers included. Not a single mark on it anywhere. Bought as unfired out of usfa collection.

Shoot or don’t shoot? I am guilty of shooting “collector” guns. What if i die and never shoot it,,then my son walks right in, picks it up and blast all my remmy golden bullets thru it before he sells it for $50. I could have done that!

Now i read there were italian made guns. I hope this is a USA made gun.

Can you guys tell me about it?

Those came out much later than the Italian parts guns.
Very nice gun by the way. I would shoot it, don't holster it.

I just found/read a couple articles saying that too.  Happy for that!

I certainly looks US made, but you've already been told that.

I don't/won't own a gun I can't shoot. Were it mine I would be looking for the left over 22 LR ammo in the shop and find out where the sights are regulated. Then blast (or maybe plink) away!

 Matt,
First off, welcome to our forum!  I have added your name, as requested, to our official member list.
Shoot it!!!  Were it mine, I'd shoot the hell out of it!!!  What could be more fun?  An afternoon of shooting for few dollars worth of ammunition.  If I'd had the money back when they were being offered, I would have snapped one up in a minute.  And don't worry about value.  If you take proper care it should not depreciate all that much.
While .22 cal. SAA's may not be in very high demand, the relative rarity of your USFA model should help to hold it's value (I'm just guessing here).  What a great gun to introduce your sons, grandsons, daughters & granddaughters to the sport of shooting!
Again, Welcome,
CJF

The wife says shoot it. She claims i am too old to buy things as investments,,,,I won’t live long enough for them to get valuable.

There is some truth to that, but then i wondered if she was threatening me.

are you a consumer or curator ?
Shoot it for sure , enjoy it and the fruits of your labor....

otherwise someone you may not even know or be an heir will reap the profit someday
when planets align...do the deal !
