Attention to Orders.
Effective immediate, Brevet Captain Malachi Thorne is hereby promoted to Brevet Colonel and appointed as the Commander of the Department of the Pacific.
Brevet Colonel Thorne is authorized to appoint such subordinate officers as he deems necessary to assist him in running the Department in an efficient manner.
I am confident that he will continue to move the Department forward as he has done as the Acting Chief of Staff.

I thank the General for the confidence he has reposed in me, and look forward to working with all of the current and future members of the Department of the Pacific.
