Headquarters Dep.t Of the Missouri
As Chief of Staff in temporary command of the Department of the Missouri, and in anticipation of the change of command, all members of the Department of the Missouri are hereby ordered to report in. Headquarters escpecially need to hear from members not yet assigned a GAF membership number.(Remember, if you reside in the Central Time Zone, you are assigned to the Department of the Missouri) Furthermore; if you are in contact with other inactive members of the Department (via telephone, e-mail, in person, pony express, or other form of communication) you are expected to bring this post to their attention or report in for them.
Basically, we need to make sure we have current contact information for all Dept. members. We know we're missing the enlistment for several members and need to get our roster updated for the new commander before he takes over. The new command will be trying to make the Dept. more active and member-friendly. Also if you have any ideas for Dept. activities, whether that be a shoot, a living history/reenactment event, a historic ball/dance/banquet or any other idea to improve the Dept. please let me know.

Sir, Staff & Etc.,
Reporting in as ordered.
This Office will continue to Promote and Promulgate the GAF & the Dept. of the Missouri at every given Opportunity. We hope that this effort will suffice as it is becoming more difficult to attend Events, as such due to Transport, etc. However, the upcoming Muster of October, next, will be the Highlight of the Year for this Office and We look forward to meeting others from this ilk and Territory.
I remain, etc.,

If the new Dept. Commander can find a regular army Artillery Officer to assume these duties my feelings will not be hurt.

If someone has some slightly soured cream, Grandma's butter churn is over to mom's house, I ain't cranked it in a while, but willing. The butter can be used to baste the steak, like the rib-eyes Gopher Grease, Slim and I had while the rest were in eatin' at the VFW in Garnett.
Does anyone know where I can get double-yolkers, my store don't carry them any more. :(
-
I'd like to get in touch with all y'all sometime via telephone. If you'd be open to this idea send me your number in an e-mail at cnp@nctc.net.
Dr. Bob, Any news on the yahoo group?

Del,
If double yolked eggs hatch are the chickens identical or fraternal twins ???
-
Don't know if they do hatch or even if there is enough room in the shell for both to develop?
Perhaps our chicken expert Slim can answer that. ::) I just cook them afore they is born and after they is grown up and dead. ;)
-
Don't they turn into that dreaded double headed chicken?
Buckah!!
Buckah!!!

The yolk is the food for the embrio. So if the egg/embio were to go to term and hatch, you would just have a fat chick.

As with children; the wild ones, once tamed, are the most productive!

Ensign RC John,
I have the utmost respect for your talents and zeal. By all means procede in this endevour. Keep me informed and on the guest list!
-
Although Commander U.S. Scout expressed an interest in attending while at the NCOWS Convention, his duties precluded his attendance.
Acting Ensign River City John,
I beg to differ! I was one of the first to express an interest in going. I seem to recall that we couldn't get enough people to visit the Crook House. The only time that would have been difficult for me was during Bvt Lt Col and Maj Matt Lewis' presentation on the GAF, which for obvious reasons I needed to attend, and by then many folks had begun their journey home.
Therefore, I look forward to making this visit next year.

Ensign RCJ,
Please add me to the list as well. It sounds like it will provide a fine insight into period society.
