When or how do we need to sign up to shoot this event?
Heck I agree, free ammo and your guns cleaned, why not?
-
Well Lets See,
A couple of years ago when I shot this at the Nationals at West Side I really enjoyed it. We only gave away three places deep and I came in fourth. I used J D guns for one stage, and one of his and one of Texas Jack's for another and then two of Texas Jack's for the final stage. J D and Texas Jack cleaned the guns. I thought I should have gotten honorable mention for fourth place, after all I did beat Irish Dave. Celeste

FRIDAY JUNE 8TH
45 COLT CHAMPIONSHIP SHOOT

START TIME 5PM
From Texas Jack: Powder Inc loads for the match will be .45 Colt 230 gr. Black Powder.

I haven't seen much on the rules for this match. So, any 45 Colt single action? Any barrel length (I have a dandy 12" gun)? How many rounds are to be fired? How many targets and distance?
-
I'm sure it has to be an NCOWS approved revolver, not necessarily single action.
If it were any single action I'd be tempted to shoot a 12" Super Blackhawk.

OT,
Last time I shot this (09), it was set up as three mini stages with only revolvers (.45 Colt cal only). There was a one revolver class and a two revolver class. All ammo was donated, so everyone shot the same loads.
I don't see any reason you couldn't shoot a Buntline. They are NCOWS legal.

That's my pal Pancho. He knows my guns are NCOWS legal. Yep, thinking on bringing my 1873 Buntline.

I wish I had a Colt New Service.

230 gr? That is my light BP Load.
-
Joe
These aren't light loads . And yes we will shoot 3 stages . This has always been a FUN event . There is a rumor floating around that Jeff Farmer is going to clean Everyone's pistol afterwards ? ;D ;D ;D
-
I'll bring 6 so Jefff has something to keep him busy and out of the bars.
-
It doesn't matter how many you bring it will take him the same amount of time. He's just going to run a string through the trigger guards, toss the whole bunch in the closest pond and then drag em back out on the bank to dry.
He's generally more thorough at our local shoots because we have a running creek on our range.
-
Think we may enough hot air to dry those guns pretty good. Tj ;D
-
Cliff
You might be on to something . The lake at West Side is mighty close to the Range , and deep too . ;D ;D
Dynamite Bill
Are you going to let Jeff clean you guns ?
