I was lookin through pictures last night, this is the oldest Christmas Picture I could find of myself
Christmas 1952, I'd be the little one in front. ;D The others are my Cousins, my Dad's Sisters kids.
anybody else got some Christmas pictures
-
they had color photo's back then?

LOL!
wantin' yer @$$ kicked fer Christmas ain't ya? ::)
;D
-
;D ;D I think I've got about 3 or 4 color pictures from that day, they were taken by an Uncle, don't know where he came up with color film, all the other pictures I have are black and white until sometime up in the late 60's when a few color pictures start showing up.
-
this one was taken the same day, out lookin at Grandpa's cows, he had just changed over from Herfords to Angus, all that herd was registered Angus
-
This was him on his horse Tony, with one of the herds he had before the Angus, this one was taken in the 40's sometime
-
Nice pictures, pards.

OT, I like them boots. I always got a new pair every Christmas until I was out of high school.
-
I'll dig some up. Dad has all ma little squirt pitchers, but there's some fairly old ones layin around here. If I'm lucky I'll find em by New Years.
Leo
-
Tex, them red boots was the very first pair of walkin boots I had, my Mom kept em around forever, they may still be in here in some of her stuff we kept. my Grandpa bought em for me down at the Bully Good Saddle shop in Muskogee, I don't know how many pairs of em he bought me but I had em evertime my shoe size changed. ;) if you'll notice my coat is as close to what his looked like as he could find. ;) I was named after him, so it was always Bill & little Bill, people who knew me all my life called me that for years after Grandpa had passed on.
-
OT, I was always known as Little Jim, because Dad's business partner had a son named Jim also. He is about 5 years older than I am. I came home for a visit after I moved to Dallas, I had been working out and I was up to about 210. We ran into the other Jim and my Dad said " I don't think we can call him Little Jim anymore" and they didn't.
-
LOL!
wantin' yer @$$ kicked fer Christmas ain't ya? ::)
;D
LOL at least I didn't ask him if Mathew Brady took those pictures
-
Tin Types?
-
Maw's got all the old pictures. I probably wouldn't want to share them anyway. If I were my dad, I would have revoked all dressing privileges early on. ::)

Guess I got lucky in that department. My first suit fer pitchers was all denim. :D Can't find the derned things anywhere (the pitchers not the clothes). I think one of ma ex's has em er burned em er whatever.
Leo
-
My Dad wasn't into takin' still camera pictures. He had an 8 mm camera that he took movies of all our trips and vacations. I don't have any old pictures at all.
-
Did someone say denim?
Here's my grandmother and father at Christmas somewhere around 1976. My father worked for Levi Strauss. Can you guess who made his suit?

:P :P :P
-
SWEEEEET!
Leo
-
I had one of those when my brother got married the first time, but I think it came from Sears. ;D
-
I didn't have one of those Denim suits, but I sure had a lot of those polyester leisure suits!

-
I also had some patent leather shoes and floral shirts.
-
Lemme jist say, tha day I got rid o' tha leisure suit, polyester shirt an' 3 pair o' polyester pants was better than tha day I sold my boat.
-
I also had some patent leather shoes and floral shirts.
Ditched them an' tha patent leather belt too...
-
I think they musta hunted them polyesters to extinction, you just don't see a good suit made of em anymore ;D
far as I remember, didn't ever have one, just wore ma Levi's and Wranglers all the way.

I never had one til I moved to Va.
It only lasted 'bout 5 months.
-
I guess that they are not coming back in style! AH! Those pastel colors!
-
My father told me that he probably still has it. He was still wearing the same jeans, corduroys and shirts in the 90s that he wore in the 70s. When he retired he started wearing them more often began to thin the herd, but he still has much of the old stuff left.
Heck, last Christmas he was wearing the same Levi's fake sheepskin vest that he wore in the 70s.

It won't be the same unless Montalban agrees to do the commercials again. ;D
-
Who has the keys to the Cordova ??? ::)
-
Who has the keys to the Cordova ??? ::)
I don't know, but I've been to the town of Cordoba before. Didn't find a set there.
-
Prolly found a lot of other things though.
Just a guess ::)

Them patents are getting hard to find also, especially the hard to find colors. It takes a bunch to make a pair of shoes.
-
I killed one with a shotgun once. Unfortunately, that caused the price to go down. It's a hard life hunting patents/naugas/corinthians. They're just so darned small.
Now, the Fauxs are a different story. They're pretty large and have a nice bare spot on their belly where you can to shoot 'em without ruining any of the fur. For them, you can rack up a huge stack of Marshal Island Dollars.
-
Well then it's time ta go on safari an bag us some a them Pleather Beasts. Heard a 50 cal muzzle loader will drop one in it's tracks. JC Pennys is givin high dollar fer em these days.
Leo
-
Naw. From a distance the 50 cal will leave way too large an exit hole. Those things are just as tame as anything and look just like a beanbag with legs. You can pounce on their backs and stick them behind the ear with an icepick. Minimal loss of hide.
-
But the exit hole is where ya taditionaly sew on the PETA patch.
Ya don't wanna break tradition do ya?.
Leo
-
I guess not.
-
Ain't a tradition for me.

Tuco: "See you soon.. idi... idi"
Blondie: "Idiots... it's for you."
Clint Eastwood all day today on AMC. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

I love that line, "it's for you" If weren't fer all the cartrige revolvers durring the war it would be the perfect movie.

Leone is one of the first directors who was interested in portraying the era accurately. It doesn't mean that he tried to be dead on. As has been said before. "If you want accuracy, read a book. Otherwise, shut up and enjoy the movie." (NOT directed at you LT).
Hmmm... my first hero: Eastwood, or my second hero Wayne. Tough choice. TCM... no commercials. TCM wins. Thanks for the tip!
-
I'll shut up an enjoy the movie. I have it on DVD, in the DVR an on the hard drive ;D
Leo
-
In searching for TCM, I landed on Fit TV and got side tracked for a while...
-
Checking out the cute little honeys in their workout clothes? :-[
-
just for information purposes only ya know, what channel would that be. ::)
-
OT, I know nothing! I plead the 5th, on the grounds that it might tend to incriminate me. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
-
The gals were teaching home viewers how to belly dance... I don't know if it's one show or all FitTV shows are like this, but no one talks, there is an announcer and she is so mellow and soothing. Of course, the gals are not at all hard to look at. ::) ;D
-
that sounds almost as good as Beach Volleyball ::)
-
OT, I wanna volunteer to wipe the sand off the female contestants.
-
I LOVE beach volleyball!
I'm not much of a sports fan and I remember the first time I was flipping channels and saw it. I called my brother up (who is a HUGE sports fan) and told him I was watchin' ESPN. He asked me if I was alright. :D
-
It's a healthy respect for well-conditioned athletes in bikini's.
-
well of course, why else would we be watchin. ::)
-
Yes, Indeed!
-
Yes, I firmly agree.
-

I really need to read ALL of the post before allowing my mind to start turning... I thought you were about to say "...for Christmas".
-
Them leisure suits were real popular back in the "Dark Ages".
-
Wasn't dark for everyone. I came out of darkness during the '70s. 8)
-
It was a long time ago, I was 30 in 77. TrinMan I know you ain't that old. You couldn't have been very old back then.
-
:o

he must be refering to when he first time saw the light of day. ;D
-
That sounds more like it. I always thought of him as a young whipper snapper.
-
OT hit the nail on the haid. ;D 1973.
-
Got socks an' unnerware older than that!
-
And some pairs of boots.
-
;D
I've got my father's leather hunting breeches from his teenage years. Does that account for anything?
-
Only, If you can fit into them.
-
Only, If you can fit into them.
Ten years ago I could... but barely.
-
Don't feel bad about it TrinMan, everyone has that problem sometime or the other.
-
Hey, Slim in a Leisure suit! Is that with or without the BEARD? Ve vill make you Talk!
Without. ;)
Slim
-
Slim without a beard, Now that's something I've never seen.
-
Sounds sorta skeery! :o
-
I grew my beard out for a couple weeks before Thanksgiving. The beard that had when I was young was reddish blond. That has been replaced with gray and white. How did that happen?
