I have a USFA Single Action (Stated on box) 4 3/4" .44 Special, serial No. 28657, purchased 8/24/2011.
This gun was originally ordered through a local gun shop as a 4 3/4" Rodeo II, .44 Spl. in March 2010. However, there were delays: USFA stopped the matte nickel process, then they ran out of .44 barrels and finally notified my dealer that they were about to ship the wrong gun (5 1/2"). This took about a year or so. Finally I talked to Gary, at the factory, and we agreed on an all-blued 4 3/4" .44 Spl Single Action, marked "Russian and S & W .44" in May 2011. Based on the date of the phome call and the receipt of the gun, it was manufactured between May and August of 2011.
The original quoted price for the Rodeo II was $775, including a $150 "specisl" charge for .44 Special chambering as Rodeo II's were only then offered in .38 Spl. or .45 Colt. My final cost with a $30 background check fee and 8% sales tax was $872.81.
