Price reduced to $650 shipped

This 1879 Rifle was purchased already cut down and was intended as a base for a sporting rifle similar to the M1875 "Officer's" Rifle.  The seller had the barrel professionally shortened. A functional but bit crude front sight was dovetailed and installed.  The overall metal finish is good with some speckling present.  The bore is good with strong rifling and there is some roughness in the grooves, but overall is in good condition.  The action and lockwork are all good and functioning properly.  The wood was very dry when acquired with no original markings/stamps visible and has had some BLO/Turp applied with a light sanding.  It could use additional treatment.  Ramrod hole and groove have not been filled or plugged.
I replaced the Infantry trigger guard and swivel with a Pedersoli Carbine one.  I also have a Pedersoli Officer's cleaning rod and barrel mounted retaining stud (not installed) that will accompany this rifle.

Asking 750.00.  As it is an antique I can ship directly.  Shipping to lower 48 only is included. UPS recommended and preferred.  Discreet electronic, USPS money order and personal check accepted (ship held until check clears).  Please message with any questions or additional photos.

Thanks for looking!
