A single action clone?

(1/1)

Buckaroo Lou:
Not sure if this is the right place for this post.

One of my pastor's sons loves cowboys and the cowboy guns. He likes to come over to my house and watch cowboy movies and look at some of my single actions and lever rifles so I decided I would make him a wooden single action. I know it isn't USFA, Colt, or even Uberti quality, but I did trace around one of my USFA revolvers for the pattern. I used a piece of scrap Cherry Wood I had laying around. I got a little lazy when it came to the ejector housing and used a piece of dowel rod I had. Didn't have any cherry stain either. I don't think he will care. He is out of town for several days so I will have to wait until he gets back home. Can't wait to see the look on his face when he comes over next time.

Abilene:
Very cool!  That is probably how the guy started out that made the functioning SAA out of wood.  ;D
I'm sure he will love it.  A couple clubs I shoot at have similar sized cutouts of SAA for the spotters, but they are just flat pieces.  However, they are easy and fun to spin!

Dave T:
Lou,

What a nice thing to do for a young boy. God bless you.

Dave T, Thank you.

I realized yesterday after I finished the gun that toy guns are always loaded and they never run out of ammo. I know because I shot it at least 15 or 20 times and never had to reload.  ;D  Also, ammo is dirt cheap!  :)

DeaconKC:
Just a great thing, well done Sir.
