Best Cimarron Open Top?

From a design standpoint, what is the best Cimarron open top replica?  I am going to go with 38 Special since the design is weak even with modern steels.

The 72 was an improvement over the R&M... mine is in 45 S&W.....

Weak , well yeah, compaired to a top strap on a Rem or Colt 73 ....
Not so sure, when compaired to a Top Break.

I'm not comcerned useing 180 Grain Black Hills Sch. or Goex Clean Shot or BP.
