38-55 rabbit getter.

Camp meat comes to the dutch oven now and then.  My Winchester Legendary Frontiersman 38-55 does an exemplary job of killing bunnies.  I load 20 grains of FFFg Schuetzen powder with cream of wheat filler under a card wad and the little EPP-36 90 grain pistol bullet seated with just enough crimp over the top driving band to make 'em pocket safe.  POP, dead bunny.

YESSSSSSS!!

Some couple of seasons ago, I were searching thru my stuff for some 38-55 to run in my H & R Handi rifle for a Planesman Side match.  Nada.  Nix, Nuttin Honey. 

Then I remembered the EPP UG -36 drops from the mold at .380.  El Perfecto (Cegar Add) says I and I started loading the EPP UG - 36 in my 38-55.  It's like a laser.  ZzaPP and it's there.  Really fun to shoot.  Shoots like a 22.  BANG/KLANG, buncha smoke, zero recoil.  Really fun!!!

Even though it's a small bullet, it hauls plenty of bullet lube.  Care is needed with the crimp on the fragile front driving band.  Just enough to assure pocket safe ammo.  From the 38-55 rifle it'll shoot very respectable one inch groups at 50 yards.  Angle of bunny, no problem.

That is neat. I think I still have some EPP UG .36 around here somewhere. I may have to try it when my .38-55 returns from the gunsmith.
