S&S rear sight

I have not been happy with the rear sight that came on my ARMI Spencer.  It does not give a good sight picture.  I looked around and found that S&S had a reproduction 1860 rear sight.  I decided to give it a try.  I am really pleased with the sight.  It took some modification to the sight base to narrow it enough to go in the barrel dovetail, but it just meant getting out the jeweler files again and going to work.  Brownells cold blue covered up the bare metal.  How close it is to the original sight I can't say, but it does raise the point of impact.  Here are some comparison pictures between the sight that came on the carbine versus the S&S sight.  The S&S sight is on the top in the first picture and on the right in the second one.
