Promotion Ceremony- Div. of the Pacific NW
« on: January 26, 2009, 02:56:09 PM »

Dateline: Littlerock, WA. Saturday January 24, 2009.

In an official ceremony conducted during the opening meeting of the monthly Black River Regulators' SASS match today, Captain Lee Bishop was formally promoted to Commanding Officer, Cavalry Troop D, Department of the Pacific, Grand Army of the Frontier.

The promotion of Capt. Bishop was authorized by Col. Malachi Thorne, Commanding Officer of the Dept. of the Pacific. The ceremony was conducted by Col. Douglas Cedar, who is the Commanding Officer of the Division of the Pacific Northwest, Department of the Pacific, G.A.F. Capt. Bishop is the third CO of Troop D, succeeding Major One Star Charlie, who is now the Adjutant of the Div. of the P.N.W.

Col. Cedar read the official orders promoting Capt. Bishop, and presented him with the Troop D guidon. This was especially significant for Col. Cedar, as he was the first CO of Troop D. and was succeeded by Major One Star Charlie upon his promotion to his present position as Divisional Commander.

Respecfully submitted,

Bvt. Col. Douglas Cedar, US Cav.

Division of the Pacific Northwest
