Should be able to use a .45 Colt seating die.

Other than buying one from the manufactures, you can seat with a .45 Colt die, but to crimp you can use a .45 ACP taper Crimp die.

Before Starline came out with the Schofield Brass, I was shortening the .45 Colt to size and using my .45 Colt Die set to resize, decap, and seat the bullet.  I then used a .45ACP taper crimp die to snug the brass to the bullet.  It worked great.  I always had positive and complete ignition and the bullets went to where I aimed them.

You can also use a .45 ACP seating die, just remember to set it for the longer case and it too will give a decent crimp to the .45 S&W case.
Listen!  Do you hear that?  The roar of Cannons and the screams of the dying.  Ahh!  Music to my ears.

I thankyou all for your suggestions.

However, my M1909 New Service and Colt SAA, both in 45 Colt, are chambered in the original dimensions.  My Original Pacific dies are also so dimensioned.  I want to try the 45 Schofield in both of these.  The dimensions of the 45 ACP, which I also have, are WAY to tight for the .454 bullets I use.

So I ask again, where can I find a 45 Schofield seating/crimp die?
