Excellent job!!!    Love to see the real stuff come back to life.    i have no modern firearms, so I know not of this kydex you speak of, but I know of no animal named kydex so i suspect it is not a form of leather.

Seriously that looks amazing and love the fact it was such a bargain.

Oshkosh by gosh !  My late FIL participated in that and Sun 'n' Fun with his Kit Planes.
He designed and built a J3 & Super Cub and sold the plans and components out of his  Opa-locka hanger shop.
Never realizing riches he'd hoped, but still stuck with it moving his base to Aiken SC and also managed a little 8000 gal. private airfield till he passed away in 2010. RIP

on tap today ?  Hmmm TODAY/ tonight ... well to quote a famous mouse ..."The same thing we do every night, Pinky – try to take over the world!”   :P

Morning y'all.
Coffee and iced tea are ready.

EAA AirVenture this week.

'Tis 62 and hazy. "Very warm and humid. Partly sunny. A chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs in the upper 80s. Light and variable wind becoming south 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. Chance of rain 30 percent. Heat indices to 95."

I'm a little late to the dance....

I had one of these in a carbine and sold it, wish I hadn't. It was the smoothest '73 I've ever fired, one of those that almost felt as though it'd run itself. I mainly fired .44 Special handloads through mine. I used a little 165 gr. RNFP for CAS and a 255 gr. SWC for hunting. It was plenty accurate for a hunting rifle too.

Frontier Iron / Re: S&W Taylor New Model 3

I do have an additional thought on the subject  of exclusivity...

Prior to the Taylor's intro of the NM Frontier , Uberti produced the Beretta Laramie and it sold under the Beretta Logo
( course Uberti LLC is a subsidiary of Beretta Inc )

The Laramie was discontinued, and Uberti began to produced the NM Frontier in its stead ....
the main difference is the Hammer
where the Laramie had a transfer bar design , the Uberti had the traditional and correct firing pin...

I don't recall the distributer(s) of the Laramie, maybe just Beretta USA  Accokeek, Maryland , and how that may have effected the NM Frontiers introduction after the Laramie ceased.

While I'm not privy to the contracts ....I believe Sue & Tammy have exclusivity with Uberti/Beretta with the # 3 Frontier.
I believe Uberti has a similar agreements with Cimarron on a couple their offerings,  Taylors Inc. does not carry.
I don't have a list sorry ....

Of the #3 variations, the Schofield has been the most prolific sold , followed by the 2nd Model Russian,...

The NM  Frontier with Taylor's exclusivity, a distant 3rd, and now the newly introed American may slip to 4th.
Personally , The NM Frontier is the best looking , but that is JMHO  :)

The NM #3,  when I got mine was only offered in 45 Colt ( I shoot 45 Scofield ) I would have preferred 44 Russian, which I've recently been told is now offered. .
However, it is not such a big deal or must have game changer , I load all three calibers .
7 years in,  mine is a keeper  ;)

BTW The 2nd Model Russian is an original and I load BP 44 Russian for it...
