The Barracks / Re: Any GAF activity in Texas?

Good Troy is in the preliminary stages of planning a GAF Muster in Texas, possibly next Spring? I'm not sure of the location, Troy lives on the Southern coast. I think he said the location would be a couple hours North of him. Hopefully he will see this and share details as they evolve.

I bought mine, at Sportsmans Warehouse in Lady Lake, FL.
That was back when they advertised, they were closing the branch  ???
I think that was in 2016, They had storewide bargain sales a close out prices.

They had 6- 1 lbs. bottles of Shockey’s Gold, they said I could not buy all 6 (something about be fair to other customers) so I bought 4,
Any I still have 2 bottles unopened, and one I have opened.

Funny thing Sportsmans Warehouse in Lady Lake, FL. is still open for business, what the deal about final closing was about I don't have clue  :-\

We only got about half an inch last night, but some folks got a lot more.  So far I've heard that Columbus, half an hour to the south, got 6 inches last night, most of it inside of an hour.  And that's not the first rain like that this year in the area.

I believe we're already past last year's total rainfall, and I wouldn't be surprised if some spots have doubled last year's total by now.

Handgun trials don't nesessarily equate to acceptance - nor do experimental holsters get adopted - they remain as they are until adoption and approval.

This was a time of wide experimentation across the board, with many vying for a Government Contract - not that many made the cut.

Those would be hilarious (but pointless) in a Walker.  But I bet you could get some amazing muzzle flash with all that unburned powder!

Morning y'all.
Coffee and Swea'Tea are ready.

I'm about to build a boat.  ::)

'Tis 60 and rain. "Humid. Showers with thunderstorms likely. Some thunderstorms may produce heavy rainfall. Locally heavy rainfall possible in the morning. Highs in the middle 70s. East wind 5 to 10 mph shifting to the south in the afternoon. Chance of rain near 100 percent."

:) Hi Ya Hell Gate  ;)

I appreciate your kind understanding.  There are times when having an itch and the tools with which to scratch it can be a hazard.  :o

The Barnstormer is not so much its appearance as it is the "weight."  Picture a .45 caliber hollow base "Wadcutter."  Now imagine that hollow base goes almost all the up to the crown of the bullet, like really really DEEP.  Now weigh the weird little critter and find that it weighs in at a massive 130Gr as cast (no, I don't case 'em).

Now feature shooting a .44 Cap Gun that has the massive recoil of a .36 loaded with EPP UG - 36's.  Or . . . "What Recoil??"  Some kinda FUN you betcha  ;D

 :) Holy Smokes!!!  ;)

How about that for a lead in hey!!  I are sitting here wondering how I managed to skip over, miss, ignore, bypass this topic??  After all, I have been the Universal Poster Child for APP.  A proponent extraordinary if you will.  Oh, Hey, but I digress (oops)

I actually don't know that there is a "Shelf Life" applicable to APP.  As previously commented by Bunk, the components of APP are individually stable.  Some Lustrum ago I stocked up on APP (lots of it) and sometimes it gets a mite clumpy.  Break up the clumps and it works just fine.  I don't have any that has been stored for "Decades" but I wouldn't hesitate to use it if I did/had.  I do have some cartridges that have been onna shelf for 5 - 6 years and they all go BANG just fine too.

 :) Ooooh  ;)

Ya know, 44-40 Brass makes up in to wonderfully CLEAN shooting 45 Colt.  Seals the 45 chamber nicely.  Especially recommended for Black Powder and APP you betcha
