I have a new girlfriend, Violet

Today a young couple came into the gunstore I work part time at and they had their raccoon pet, Violet, with them. I held my hand out for her to smell and she climbed right up my arm and on to my shoulders. A truly friendly little critter.

My cousin had a pet Raccoon when we were kids, he was hysterical ;D
His name was Ogopogo, Nat (my cousin) also had a cat (Wocopep, don't ask no idea?)
Ogopogo would lay in ambush for Wocopep grab her and hold her and search for fleas.
If he found any they were ingested.
Wocopep was never hurt, just held firmly, and always VERY jumpy expecting an ambush, a slight
rustle or movement and the cat would springboard 3' straight up.
If you stood across, the room, and just patted the top of your head, Ogopogo loped over, climb you like tree, and sit on your shoulder. He was great pet and kept himself extremely well groomed.
He could also open a jar,

Racoons are very smart animals. One found a way to open my bait bucket and ate all of my minnows.

"Ogopogo" is the name of the cousin of the Loch Ness monster, who lives, so they say, in Lake Okanagan in British Columbia.

Yes Sir, I vividly remember the tail and the poem when I was just a little tike...
His mother was an earwig,
His father was a whale
A little bit of head
And hardly any tail
And Ogopogo was his name.
