I hear ya. I go back and forth on them. The new guns are more a '71 pistol grip with more curve. Not really like the original 86 but I just had to have one ::)

yahoody, That is a great looking rifle. As others have stated you have excellent taste in firearms. I have often drooled over your USFA's.
I recently purchased one of the new Winchester 1886 delux short rifles by Miroku and I love the rifle. I would possibly like to have the tang safety removed and a new hammer installed as you have. Is there anyone you might recommend that I could contact to get an estimate and turnaround time frame?

I have a 71 Browning, that steep curved lever loop batters my knuckles (the two middle fingers) I like the look of the older style PG much better - have been tempted many times to take the oxy torch to my lever and straighten the outer part - so far procrastination has beaten temptation :)

You can imagine my comments....and my attitude picking up my rifle. The shyster wasn't there when I picked up my rifle and wouldn't return my calls or offer to return my $300 deposit. I was told by his friend it was a honest misunderstanding. "Honest" would have been returning the $300. I paid for the wood.
