I sent him a PM asking if he was okay.  I got a PM back from Marshall Halloway saying that Dick responded but sent it to the Marshall, and he forwarded it to me.
Dick said:

Fine here.  Cold, but fine.

Thank you

Dick Dastardly aka Dick Rhody

I have the dies to reload .38 S&W, so I am actually just thinking of using those in the gun.

 Evening all.

Old Man Winter showed back up and decided to grace us with 6” of new white stuff. Interstate is a mess, but that’s normal. ::)

I learned stick in a 1994 Ford Ranger at 14 or 15, then went to a 2005 Subaru Outback. These days I’m pretty well relegated to work trucks, mostly 6, 10 and 18 speeds. I also have a bit of time in a twin stick Kenworth 8)

A sad little S&W Victory model came into the shop a couple weeks ago. The barrel was cut down to 2", the .38 S&W cylinder has been reamed to .38 Special...

Reaming a .38 S&W with a ,38 Spl reamer leaves an odd shaped chamber. The 38 S&W has a tapered case, wider at the base, so a fired .38 Spl case fired in it will have a wider bulge near the base. Not a safety issue, but if excessively sized too often might show up as an odd crack. It was often done, and if the fired cases get tossed, who cares.

Over the past year I have made multiple attempts to contact him about buying a couple of his Big Lube moulds. Never got a reply.

I learned to drive a stick in my dad's 1970 Dodge 1 ton pickup with a crew cab and duel rear wheels.

Thanks for all the info, y'all. Just an update, I took her to my gunsmith today and did a successful test fire. She times up just right and goes bang.

I fitted a front sight so now I just need to install a proper rear sight and replace the missing screws.

Falling down never a good thing. I'm supposed to be extra cautious about that & I also had surgery last Friday. Nothing over 8 lb for 6 weeks to prevent stitches opening or worse a hernia. Figure that means I'm ok to shoot a lightweight 22 & take short walks as long as don't slip.

I'll get to green pastures & spring one way or another 😁 👍
Hang in there Pard. I fall down going up steps....I need a new back I think so I can lift my feet higher!

Yeah, me too Crow Choker. He used to be here almost daily and I've used, with satisfaction, some of his products over the years. Starting to realize a number of regulars have been MIA recently.
