Ken,

I sent you a PM to email me your serial #.

I need a photo of your Spencer, please post a few.

Check under the wooden forearm, on the underside of the barrel you will find the serial # . . . make sure it is the same as the serial # at the top of the receiver. Need a photo of the top of the receiver that shows all markings, lettering and numbers.

There was some late WW2 P37 webbing that used the blackened fittings....allegedly.  I have an absurd collection of Canadian/UK p37 gear and so far I have not found a 44/45 dated piece that has blackened fittings.

FYI for a DD display it would be brass press studs on the pouches not the QD ones.

Major2, I still have that uniform I need to send you for the museum.

I've taken a couple deer with my 1873 trapdoor and with my Marlin 1881 ( made in 1883 ). Using them made deer hunting fun again for me.

Thanks, Rod. It's a pretty cool design. I feel fortunate that I found the original one all those years ago. It was buried in a box of stuff in the shop at the ranch. Over the years I've probably made a half a dozen of them.

Did not watch the video, just not something I do.

But, I do hunt and have taken deer with an 1866 and also an 1873. Of the two, I much prefer the 66 and it’s 50/70 cartridge.

Thanks again, Dave:
My cut-down, UNSIZED Starline case mouth OD's are.548"+/- because of  slight out-of-roundness.  The Lyman's .590" is great.
Smiles.
