The Plainsmen Series

Have any of you read any of the books in Terry Johnston's Plainsmen Series? Picked up a used copy of one of them, darn fine tales.I'm now on the 4 th book in order of sequence The Stalkers.

I've read and enjoyed them all. It did seem ironical how the hero managed to be involved with nearly every significant even of the period.
He often described scenes in a tavern as reeking of sweat and unwashed anuses, which was probably true. It was a shame that the author. Terry Johnston died young.

After I read two of them I looked the authors bio up. Sad indeed it is he passed so young but he left some fine reads behind for us.

Hi

I found it different that he described the SMELLS so much in his books.  This was a good series.  I finished it in 2016, but just saw this thread.
