Interesting photograph of mix of uniforms
« on: April 15, 2009, 12:34:39 PM »
I came across this photograph of the 1874 blouse, 1872 trousers, with an 1895 hat. The trousers stripe & rank stripes are infantry white.

I didn't realize the 1874 blouse & 1872 trousers were worn so late.

Gentlemen, that is not the 1874 blouse, it is the 1883 blouse.  Unlike the 1874, The 1883 has no collar or cuff piping, and has a narrower falling collar.  The 1883 was worn until officialy replaced in 1902.
